So here's a question for you. How many icons of themselves must a person have before you decide "Nah, I don't think I'll be friending your ass"? Maybe I'm the only one who has that hangup. I don't even know what it is I think it says about a person to have 5 or 6 icons of one's self. I just know it translates into one not getting friended.

Then again, maybe if I weren't so damn selective, I wouldn't be so damn bored right now. **refreshes f-list which has moved like, once, in the past 9 hours**

Anyway. Bored.

Emiliana Torrini - Sunny Road
I know that night - so long long time ago / will you still meet me on the sunny road?

This song totally makes me think of Jesse and Celine.

Nina Simone - Plain Gold Ring
Plain gold ring on his finger he wore / It was where everyone could see / He belonged to someone, but not me

Gary Allan - Loving You Against My Will
I don't want to feel your heartbeat / I don't want to taste your kiss / I don't want to call your name, I don't want to call your name / I don't want to want you like this / I'm loving you, loving you against my will...

God, his voice? Makes me all warm in my stomach. After two years of law school hell in Virginia, no way should a southern accent still get that kind of reaction out of me, but it does.

Allure feat. 112 - All Cried Out
you were the one who left me neglected / apology not accepted, add me to the broken hearts you've collected

Celine Dion - It's All Coming Back To Me Now
I banished every memory you and I had ever made.... / but when you touch me like this / when you hold me like that / I just have to admit that it's all coming back to me

Dude, I fucking love this song. And I don't care who knows it.

Nancy Ajram - Ah w Noss
Um, rough translation: Darling, come closer / take a look, take a look / are you upset with me? be upset by half, by half / or I'll have to distance myself from you / and you'll be the one who loses out / there is no one who can come between us like that / you know you are my only

Look, it sounds better in arabic, what can I say? :-P

Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam - Crush On You
When I worked at Sears, back in highschool? They played this song like 9 times a day. And for some reason, it took me forever to register that it wasn't something that was currently out and on the charts. For like a month and a half, I wondered why the only place I ever heard this song was at work. Cause I'm an idiot. Especially considering the fact this song could not sound any more 80s if they'd gotten Sheena Easton to do a guest solo.

Meatloaf - I'd Lie For You (And That's The Truth)
You know, at the risk of being a heretic, I actually prefer this duet to I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That).

Well, if I did more on eljay besides comment in your journal, I would probably have more icons, but it's either this or JC at this point in my life, and frankly, I'm too lazy to change.

thanks for the nsync remix links--HA. I've been at this coffeeshop for like, 2.5 hrs now "working on my personal statement"...oy vey it's so hard. thanks for posting, cause twop is starting to feel to much like procrastination for its own sake, and this is, like, interacting with people...right?

also, don't even be tempted by alias s4. fully not worth it. i've been watching the s1 reruns, as i told you, and my god. even the tarantino episode is better than the current drek. hmm...maybe i'll go make some more self-deprecating comments in the baseball threads of your previous posts. or perhaps i should actually try to tease out my academic philosophy, since of course all my recommenders want to read my essay. sigh.

Yeah, but 'sokay, cause you haven't crossed The Line yet. I think I actually have 2 or 3 friends that have a couple icons of themselves. Once you have more than 4? I dunno, that's the (completely arbitrary) point at which I start to wonder.

thanks for the nsync remix links--HA.

It pleases me to know I was not the only one excited to see those :-P

and this is, like, interacting with people...right?

Sure! ^_~

also, don't even be tempted by alias s4. fully not worth it.

**laughs** But I liked some of the Spyfamily drama that season!

**laughs** Do you have an academic philosophy? Or I guess that's the problem, huh? :-P Aw, strength, friend! I'm sure it'll be brilliant. And stuff :-P

"alone at last we'd count up all the chances that were lost to us forever"

"But you were hist'ry with the slamming of the door
And I made myself so strong again somehow"

That is to say...you're not the only one.

Re: and I never wasted any of my time on yoooooou since theeeeeeeen

I love it too. Always have. I've gotten over my adolescent love of Celine, but I will always love that song.

Also, speaking as a lifelong Meatloaf fan (I grew up listening to Bat out of Hell becuase of my mom, and have known all the words since before I knew what they meant), I hate "I Will Do Anything." Hate. It is stupid and annoyingly catchy. Just saying.

And, you know, I've never been bothered by self-portrait icons. Mostly I am impressed that people have pictures of themselves they like enough to icon; I can't think of a single one I'd want to look at that often. Also, I have a friend who's made a pretty cool theme out of them, since she takes photos as art experiments.

LOL, noted. I confess I do like it, I just prefer I'd Lie For You :-P

I suppose that's one (completely non-judgmental) way to look at it, true enough.

Oh yes. And if you've seen this video, he's a very good leaner, too.

Took a few of the other songs, thanks!

**laughs** You know, I think I saw it years ago when this song first came out, but definitely not in a while. In fact, I haven't actually seen a Gary Allan video in ages. And now I feel wicked deprived. Woe. Maybe the CMT website can help me out in that department.

And you're most welcome ^_^

I think you're being mean. Why have 100 userpics if they're not all of you? Or really, ALL OF ME!??!!

LOL. I have to go poke needles in my eyes now. And purge this icon from my computer and my brain.

HAHAHA...all my icons are either me or one of the cats, except one. So I must be the exception.

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

**laughs** Must have been. I don't remember checking out your icons when I first friended you. I think 'cause I figured I knew a little something about you from the Hideki journal? This girl I was contemplating friending, she's friends only and I know next to nothing about her...and I guess I use icons as some sort of proxy in such situations. Or something.

Just wanted to let you know that John liked the Girlfriend remix, too. He didn't know I owned No Strings Attached...I cringed waiting for his comment on the fact, but he said, "That's a great album!" Yay!

Hmmm, I don't have any icons of myself. I figure there are more interesting icon subjects (and I don't mean that to be nearly as self-deprecating as it sounds!).

You are rubbing off on me, though. I now have two baseball icons, and am scurrying off to make a third. Sheesh. ;-)

Heh. I agree with you though; same reason I don't have any icons of myself. I had one that lasted all of like two days before it got rotated out :-P

'Cause you can never have too many baseball icons. Clearly :-P

Indeed. ;-) This is my newest one, inspired by an Andy Pettitte quote from this (http://houston.astros.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050825&content_id=1183339&vkey=news_hou&fext=.jsp&c_id=hou) article, which should have been called "The Astros Pitchers Love Brad." hehe It made me smile...they're so cute!

Actually, I think it's also my friend Donna's fault. She's a new LJ user (signed up so she can read my f-locked posts, which makes me feel honored!), and I thought she should have a Biggio icon because she's a huge fan. (As she says, he's her best baseball boyfriend.) And then I thought I should have some baseball icons, too. Yay!

I LOVE THAT CELINE DION SONG!!!! Don't be ashamed!! *points at icon* See?

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

**high-fives** Whoo. I too love My Heart Will Go On. Honestly, people talk shit, but Celine oooooooooooooooooooooowns. And songs by Diane Warren oooooooooooooooooooooooown. And that is all :-P

From: [identity profile] jaredsexual.livejournal.com

hehehehehe, I completely agree. Another song Diane Warren wrote that I really like is "I don't wanna miss a thing"

I agree with you re: self-iconing. I don't want to look at myself. I don't assume that anyone ELSE wants to look at me. I post pix of myself if they're related to my POST. In my universe, icons either A)provide eyecandy or B)express something about the topic and/or tone of my post.

I think I actually made an icon from a picture of me...but it was my feet. In skates. And I don't use it anyway.

But the absolute most vomitous LJ thing I have ever seen is the screenname [Bad username or site: mommy_2_jazmyn / @ livejournal.com]. And check out her journal title and subtitle (she's 20):
Jazmyn's Mommy, Geromy's Wifey
Me, My Baby & My Baby Daddy

Wow. Um. Yeah. I really don't know what to say to that. At least she loves her kid. And her husband. And thank God she's friends only?

OK, I know this wasn't my comment, but I must reply because both it and your response have me falling off my chair laughing! Thanks for being so darned witty. :-)
