I played BINGO yesterday in something called a Moose Lodge. I have some vague recollection of playing BINGO in elementary school in Egypt, but I've never played organized BINGO.

It was part of a fundraiser for an area girl who was recently diagnosed with cancer - twenty games of BINGO for $20. It took about 3 hours to play all 20 games (the bingo number calling dude started off very sloooooooowly).

Bingo is apparently big with older, heavy white women.

We could play six boards per game.

Bri and her co-workers are very focused.

Bri almost had bingo on two boards! But almost doesn't count.

I was having fun at first.

Then I just kept losing. But it was all for a good cause, so I got over it.

And when not playing BINGO, I spent much of yesterday watching SG-1. The mini-marathon has gotten out of hand, since I started it in the wee AM hours, being unable to sleep, and it's now into Day 2 :P So far:
  • There But For The Grace Of God (1x20)
  • Politics (1x21 - when you haven't watched the first season in a long time, the clip show is suddenly a handy device)
  • Within The Serpent's Grasp (1x22)
  • In The Line of Duty (2x2 - except not really, because I fell asleep during this one)
  • Message In A Bottle (2x7)
  • The Fifth Race (2x15)
  • A Matter of Time (2x16)
  • Legacy (3x4)
  • Learning Curve (3x5 - especially good ep; thanks for reminding me, [Bad username or site: dtissagirl / @ livejournal.com]!)
  • Point of View (3x6 - my love of alternate realities trumps the squickiness of forced Sam/Jack)

And I've just realized I've been watching a ton of episodes where the team's stuck on base. Huh. Well, I've still got two and a half more seasons to make up for that.

Did they do the thing where everyone yells stuff out after some numbers?

What kind of stuff do you mean? One of Brianna's coworkers went "oooooh" after the guy called "0 - 69" but no one else did :P And there was generally grumbling from all around when someone won each game.

Strangely enough, the only one I can remember is "O - 69, dinner for two".

My parents used to play bingo at the casino when we lived in Texas. I didn't mind missing them because they always brought me home a ton of those bingo markers.

Lol, my grandfather owned his own car shop, so he had a TON of those papers that they lay down in the footwells to protect the carpet from oil and stuff. He would bring home pads of those papers so that when my parents dropped me off with my grandmother for the day, I had my bingo markers to take to the giant paper!

You really are 67 years old.

You should watch 2010 or whichever that ep is called. I remember thinking that was about as "the shit" as something could be. As silly as the show is, I think it was one of my favorites to watch that you forced on me. Something about the light and fluffiness of a SG-1 or Highlander makes it easy to down 3-to-5 eps like nothing.

**snorts** I know.

You got the title right! Which, in and of itself, is proof that episode was something special ;) 2010 is coming up in season 4; I wasn't planning to watch that one, but it's been long enough that I don't remember too much of it, so onto the list it goes!

We used to play BINGO! a lot when I was a kid (and LoterĂa, too, a kind of Spanish BINGO!). It was the only form of gambling sanctioned by the nuns at school.

Heh, gotta love that Beatles tee Bri is wearing. That kind of t-shirt I would pay $70 for. And look at you, with the curls! Woohoo! Wild woman! ;-D

lol, they're not so much curls as a mass of uncontrollable strands.

Bri says it only cost her $12 :P But yeah, I'd sooner pay $70 for that than one of Braun's gems.

Moose lodge? Seriously? I'm proud of you for expanding your horizons. :p

Hey. That counts as cul-cher around these parts.

**snorts** Unfortunately, I am no closer to understanding what in the hell a Moose Lodge is, or what people do there when the hall is not rented out for BINGO....but one thing at a time.

Here, too. SADLY.
