[Bad username or site: trailer_spot / @ livejournal.com] has the first official full Wolverine trailer up here.

In the interest of saving you time:

Gambit at 1:29, 1:48, and 1:57.
Ryan Reynolds as Deadwhatshisface at 0:39.
Shot of child!Storm at 1:53.
Glimpse of Emma Frost at 1:56.

They're mostly the same shots of the characters we got in the leaked footage from Comic Con, but there's a new close-up of Gambit, and the picture quality's a lot better, obviously.

I'll see it, surely, but it's a bit amusing to me that Jackman's Wolverine isn't the reason at all. Also I still don't understand what Emma is doing in this movie, but whatever. Because GAMBIT is in it :) :) :)

More coherently - I don't know who's playing younger!Stryker, but I think he's done a pretty good job of recreating Brian Cox's cadence. Well, in the bits they put in the trailer, anyway. Well done, there.

That puts you better off than me! It sounds like you won't be too bored by all the actual, you know, plot, since Sabretooth seems very involved there :P

When are they gonna let us hear TK's Gambit voice, though? I have a sneaking worry they'll have him do the Halle Berry thing and drop the accent entirely.

Oh, but that's Deadwhatshisface when he still actually has a face. Pre-disfigurement-and-insanity Deadpool is booooooring.

**laughs** Since I know absolutely nothing about Deadpool, I cannot feel your irritation. Maybe he gets disfigured & crazy early in the movie?

I haven't read Veronika, but I want to. It seems like a departure from Paulo Coehlo's usual stuff.

Yea, I was a lot of help, wasn't I? ;-D

**laughs** It's okay. Did you mentioned reading The Alchemist or something by him, a couple months ago? I thought his name sounded familiar, but I couldn't figure out why.

Yes, I did! I read The Alchemist and started The Fifth Mountain, but that turned out to be a book I will not finish. Also, I think I mentioned Veronika to you in another post. Can't remember which one, though ...

There's a big "analysis" of the trailer here (http://www.empireonline.com/features/wolverine-trailer-breakdown/). I was tempted but I didn't watch it because of the disclaimer "and we're here with our traditionally exhaustive, in-depth trailer breakdown. If you're afraid of spoilers, this is NOT the breakdown for you." So please decide for yourself.

Can you explain to a n00b in non-spoilery terms the/your attraction to Gambit? The character. Not the actor who plays him. ;)

Yeah, I'll pass ;)

I think the attraction to Gambit (the character) is for some of the same reasons people like Wolverine. Gambit's also a loner, who has issues with authority. He hides a good heart behind a facade. In the comics, he and Wolverine often clash, no doubt because they're alike in a lot of ways. Gambit had no biological family, from what I remember of canon, which is a quick way to make a character sympathetic to me. He was raised by members of a thieves guild. To that end, he's a trickster, with a quick sense of humor. And I'd be lying if I didn't admit part of the reason I love Gambit is his accent ;) The character is Cajun, although I worry that TPTB will do away with his accent like they did away with Storm's :(
