TPTB HAVE TURNED ON THE AC IN OUR DORM ROOMS.

DETAILS TO FOLLOW.

(Okay, not really. that's pretty much the whole story. but yay! AC! Someone was just talking about it outside and I overhead him saying that the AC would not be turned on until April 15th. Which would have been murder.)

(Also, I suppose I am obligated to say something along the lines of yaybaseballisbackomg, but I still haven't figured out who I'm rooting for this year, so I'm having trouble getting excited as of yet. And no, for the 18th time, I'm not rooting for the Cubs.)

Ha, maybe Myr should root for the Nats! They're relatively fanless, a local team, and supposed to be awful! A triple threat! Plus I know she digs Zimmerman.

I'm not rooting for the Nats >:[ The Front Office totally mishandled the dismissal of Frank Robinson, so they get added to the list of Teams I Won't Root For Because Their Front Office Irritates The Shit Out Of Me.

From: [identity profile] acroarcs.livejournal.com

I don't blame you for that, although I put some of that on Frank as well. I felt like he stirred up things just because? I don't know. I never really understood what was going on with that anyway. It was clear he wasn't going to be managing in '07, I don't know why it had to go beyond that simple fact.

I think you're down to, like, KC and Minnesota or something. Do you want me to grab some Twins stuff for you when I'm in Minneapolis next month?

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

That is sad, but true. And the Reds and the Brewers, I guess. Pretty much those four teams.

Even understanding that the Nats wanted to go a different route manager-wise, I thought it was foul that he was led to believe they'd have a position for him in the front office, only to turn around and be like "oh wait, not really." At least, that was my understanding of how it went down, but I'm rarely inclined to give ownership the benefit of the doubt on anything.

Ha, I almost included Milwaukee in the list, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Why would anyone want to root for Milwaukee? (But then, (1) my grandmother does and (2) I included KC, but I have a soft spot for them.)

My understanding was just about the opposite - everyone knew he was leaving, but there was some media speculation as to whether or not a "legend of the game" such as him ought to be given a front office job, and Frank said he'd consider it. Then Lerner and Kasten were all, "Don't know what he's considering, since we've never said we'd offer him one." And it got messed up from there.

I think you should root for the Royals, just because they're the one AL Central team everyone predicts will do nothing.

ooh!

yes! Choose minnesota! Who doesn't love playing baseball INSIDE? in a giant spaceship/pillow/cupcake hybrid visible from so many convenient locations in the city? I know I'm a fan.

Seriously, though, this way someone might actually come visit me, and i can sound knowledgeable about local things. Rock and roll. Go Twins!

Root for the Tigers! We're supposed to be back to the "underdogs" since Kenny will be out for three months!

It's weird reading about someone not that far away from me turning their AC on already. Especially considering it's supposed to possibly snow here tomorrow night.

Have you broken up with the Marlins? And didn't you like the Mets? I can't keep track of your allegiences. Maybe it'll be easier if you pick teams to root against instead. Image

lol, I did indeed break up with the Marlins in the offseason, after Joe Girardi was fired. I don't like the Mets, but I don't dislike them, so I guess they're sort of a possibility. I was rooting for John Maine in the handful of playoff games he pitched last year, since I saw him pitch his ML debut with the Orioles.

Maybe it'll be easier if you pick teams to root against instead.

lol, not like I haven't thought of that, honestly >.> But it's not as much fun. I'm pretty much planning on rooting for Zito the Giants to suck more than not this year, but they're on Left Coast time and all, so I figure I'll need something else to occupy my time.

It's weird hearing about AC, because apparently it's going to snow tomorrow, then get up to 50 for Opening Day at Wrigley. Then... I have no idea. But today was nice; it thunder stormed for the better half of the morning, then was really warm.

And no, for the 18th time, I'm not rooting for the Cubs.

Awh, boo. Not even a teensie bit? You helped the fish not lose 100, & aided the Cards in their WS win.. I sense a pattern here.

But I know I haven't asked 18 times, so who else would be asking you to? lolz

Oh, the weirdass Midwest. While we were driving through last week, it was heat, then thunderstorms, then snow and ice. Craziness. We had a period on the east coast where we kept see-sawing temperature wise, but apparently I think we're done with the cold stuff, finally.

.. I sense a pattern here.

lol. Well, with Prior off to the minors and Wood on the dl, who knows? Your boys might end up sad enough for me ;)

Dude, the Cubs always seem to come up when I'm talking to my friends about needing a new team. I think because people seem to think that my only criteria is that the team suck, or something.

From: [identity profile] lovingthecubs.livejournal.com

Just so long as they're somewhere close on your "Let's go team" list, I'll be a happy camper. Because we sure as heck fill the team that sucks requirement. We just happen to have a bigger pay role this season.

From: [identity profile] rickenbacker.livejournal.com

Putting aside the Reds, I am not unfond of the other 3 teams you have left and indeed pull for the Royals and Brewers in most situations so I am all for those.

I still think, though, Bobby Crosby needs you. Hard pressed to find a sadder sack at the moment. Cept maybe Brad Lidge.

From: [identity profile] acroarcs.livejournal.com

Here is exactly what I was thinking as I read the last part:

I still think, though, Bobby Crosby needs you.

Awww, Bobby needs the love. He's such a special child sometimes.

Hard pressed to find a sadder sack at the moment.

He is a sad sack. But what about Lidge?

Cept maybe Brad Lidge.

Oh, okay. Let's carry on, then.

It boggles me that you're somewhere warm enough to need AC already.

And no, for the 18th time, I'm not rooting for the Cubs.

FINE. WE DON'T NEED YOU ANYWAY. *pouta*

(for God's sake, please don't become a Twinkies fan. Please, I beg you.)

From: [identity profile] aurealis.livejournal.com

So, how warm is it there now? I'll laugh if you say in the 60s. It was like that here the other night, and people were trembling because it was "so cold". *lol*

I would certainly approve it if you decide to root for the Brewers this season. There's room on my bandwagon, c'mon, get on it! ;-D If your choice is the Twins, I'll be equally happy. And grateful in advance for all the video clips of Joe and Justin that you will post. :-)~

(I suppose it is a waste of breath to ask that you support the O's, at least a tiny bit? How 'bout just rooting for Erik? He probably needs all the support he can entice after Monday night.) :-c
