Good news! Sci-Fi has ordered a fourth season of BSG, with an estimated premiere date of Jan. 2008.

Better news! It's a THIRTEEN EPISODE ORDER.

I'd been wondering how realistic it was to hope and pray that the show would move back to a shorter season. I can't express how happy this makes me. I loved my show so much more before the painful filler eps, and I loved the characters so much more when their storylines weren't being strung out and stretched beyond my capacity to give a shit.

There's a link to a TV Guide blurb about the extension floating around. The blurb contains what I think most would consider a spoiler, so don't click it if you're wanting to stay spoiler-free about upcoming developments.

**laughs** That would be just my luck, but even the character I hate - Kara - is a character whose storylines I can enjoy if they're told better. But with such a short episode order, they wouldn't be able to advance the plot by focusing so many eps on just one person, thank goodness.
