I note B-Rob signed another one year deal. Weren't he and Bedard the guys the Orioles made "a priority" to lock up long term? Luck with locking up the young pitcher when you can't even lock up the banged up second baseman, guys. I hope that works out for you O's fans, though. Steroid suspicions aside, B-Rob at least really seems glad to be there most of the time.

I want to say the one with the pet monkey was named Mowgli but obviously that's not right. It's on the tip of my tongue... :\

Around the Shack, we commonly use the Power of Heart as a way of saying that someone is really proud of what they can do, but it's actually lame. It comes up a lot more than you'd expect. We originally thought Heroes' Niki/Jessica (Ali Larter's character...s) had only the Power of Multiple Personalities, which was almost as lame as Heart, but we turned out to be wrong.

Although I don't know how lame Heart was. There was that one episode where the villian had gloves of power that were stronger than the rings they normally had, and everyone but Heart Boy traded in for the gloves, but it warped them and made them sort of evil and shit. And then Gaia became mortal because only Heart Boy was true to her. But then he convinced them all to come back to the good side or something. I don't know. I think he talked some dolphins along the way. Kind of like Aquaman, that. Okay, so Heart was actually lame again. Never mind.

1. Roger fails at not only retirement, but life. I think I call him a bastard daily. I hate feeling like we need him the season.

2. I only ever use Yahoo Sports for their gamechannel thing to "watch" the Rockets, so oh well on new layout. Change happens.

3. Global warming. I actually just commented about this very article on a message board I've frequented for quite a few years. I call bullshit about the hurricanes, because living on the Gulf Coast for the vast majority of my life, I've seen tropical storms that have done more damage that Cat1 hurricanes. And Katrina, when she hit? She was what, a 3 or 4? The reason there was so much destruction to NO was that it was built BELOW SEA LEVEL. The years Galveston in particular has gotten hit badly were years that there were only 4-6 named storms, not like the Katrina-Rita season of 26 or whatever.

Furthermore, Camille of '69 was more powerful than any of those, and she happened long ago.

My end point is that the Earth existed without us for billions of years, asteroids, ice ages, and mass extinctions. Nothing we can do, using natural resources to pollute or anything else, is something that with time (billions of years) cannot be cleansed.
