Reading for Family Law yesterday, and we're about to get into adoption by same-sex couples, so there was this excerpt from a paper about the family relationships of gays and lesbians, which I guess was meant to serve some "hey, the homosexuals are just like you" purpose for people who grew up under a rock or only know from gay people what they've seen on HBO during the free preview weekend or something. Anywayz, this paper throws out the following:
[Studies reported] that the top five areas of conflict for lesbian and gay couples were finances, driving style, affection/sex, being overly critical, and division of household tasks.
To which I say...driving style? lol. That makes the top five? And then of course, I spent the next three hours amusing myself with the thought of my boys snipping at each other on roadtrips to Canada or something.
(And speaking of Canada, Fraser always took Ray to task over his driving, didn't he? Hee. ♥)
Was watching some early '05 games that didn't involve Rich Harden, and hey. What do you know. Huston's first blown save, and his first loss were among those. I figured it incumbent upon me to share all thatgoodness with you.
So, here's baby!Hustonsucking at life, and some random other shit. Right click and save as.
04-06-05 (Oakland at Baltimore)
(26mb, wmv) - First appearance with Oakland. It's in a blowout against Baltimore, so not much drama, and he doesn't suck here.
04-13-05 (Toronto at Oakland)
(3mb, wmv) - Chavvy needs the right hat; superstitions.
(1mb, wmv) - Sooper sekrit messages on bats. Was there a Canadian position player on the team in '05? Or did Rich think it would be funny to vandalize Bobby's bats?
(7mb, wmv) - Aww. Kidlets are cute.
(2mb, wmv) - Does Huston still warm up like this? I'd be really surprised if the word never came down from on high to cut that shit out before he landed wrong and fucked up his pelvis.
(1mb, wmv) - lolz, nervous much? I like to imagine that Kendall was shooting irritated glances right at Huston, despite the fact that Kendall just usually looks irritated.
(22mb, wmv) - Aw. Huston blows [his first save] in his first save opportunity.
Don't worry, the A's pulled it out, in the end. No decision AGAIN for Joe Blanton, but them's the breaks. Seems he had Huddy's luck in early '05.
04-17-05 (Anaheim at Oakland)
(7mb, wmv) - The Angels announcers find it funny that Oakland thinks Street could be their closer in '05.
(38mb, wmv) - The above clip continuing into the bottom of the sixth (up to Marco's homer that gives Oakland the lead back).
(17mb, wmv) - The top of the seventh. The one Angels announcer still doesn't sound too impressed with Huston. So he rambles for a while about how Huston looks like Huddy on the mound. And then he has nothing to say when Huston makes a pretty sweet play to end the inning.
(8mb, wmv) - In the eighth, Macha pulls Street for Dotel. And gets booed. Aw. They like you already, kid.
(1mb, wmv) - Dotel gets the final out in the eighth, and Huston approves.
(21mb, wmv) - Top of the ninth. Defense protects the one run lead, and Huston gets his first career win.
Which he celebrates by...getting his first loss like two days later.
04-20-05 (Oakland at Seattle)
(13mb, wmv) - Z gives up his first grand slam. Also, the Seattle announcer? Bring it down a notch, buddy.
(36mb, wmv) - ...the A's battle back to tie it 4-4! And then Huston comes in and everything goes to pot.
Alright, that's the last of the Huston stuff.
Game: Chicago White Sox @ Oakland Athletics
Date: April 26, 2005.
Length: 3 hours and 11 minutes.
File Type, Size: wmv, 486 mbs.
Notes: Harden's fourth start of 2005. I thought about clipping stuff from this, but I decided not to engage the OCD side of me that would have made me clip just about everything anyway because this entire game is an exercise in things that are hilarious. But you only get that watching the whole thing, I think. White Sox broadcast. And btw, you know how the White Sox announcers are the biggest homers in the world? Even they devoted the first inning to kissing Rich Harden's ass. I am pretty impressed by the PR job done by Harden's people.

05-02-06 (Oakland at Anaheim)
(20 mb, wmv) - ahahaha. FIGHT! Or, you know, COLLAPSE INTO A PILE. AND THEN STAND AROUND. Yes. I don't know why this is here, except that I randomly felt like rewatching the fight last weekend.
Lastly, the final part of Bronson's video diary went up a couple days ago:
(1mb, wmv) - Aw. They're ice cream buddies, too.
(2mb, wmv) - Erik is a sucky motivator. And the boys walk off to sweep the series.
(11mb, wmv) - Full video of Part 3 of 3.
ETA: NL MANAGER OF THE YEAR! Reason to hate Jeffrey Loria for the rest of all time? Check. That's serious validation right there; I'm so proud of Joe.

Come to think of it, driving style was an issue with my boyfriend in college. I thought I was going to die every time I got in his car. But that was also only issue #2, behind issue #1. Fidelity. Driving kinda took a backseat after that.

Yeah, it's not even like you even need to rank issues 2-5 when that's your number 1.

<_<
Well, except that one. She sent some other images as well, but they were not screencaps. And everything was relevant to conversation at the time! Which I guess could give you a big hint as to the topics of conversation.
I take it back - driving was at least #3. You'd think that you wouldn't have to rank anything, but #2 was nearly at #1's spot (and indeed was #1 until I found out about the real #1), and that was all the crap you go through when you're having a secret homosexual relationship. When everything is lies and deceit, it gets stressful and difficult. Plus, lies and deceit. I'm surprised that's not on the list, but I guess they weren't surveying closeted couples, were they. That'd be difficult. ("On the offchance that you're a secret gay couple together, what would be some things you'd... Oh. Not a secret gay couple, then? I'll just move along.")

LOL.
Cursed secreths and lieths :(

Mediafire's blog says that for right now, they'll keep files available indefinitely, unless the user personally chooses to delete it. So I'll just leave it up until they realize they need the server space ^_~ If you go to download it at some later date and find that it's been deleted, just let me know! I'm happy to re-upload.
