[Poll #847793]
eta: Cardinals on verge of historic upset.

My thing where I love a good comeback story is running smack into my thing where I hate to see a dramatic collapse by anyone not the Yankees :/

Is anyone else having Gmail issues lately? Emails randomly popping up in your inbox hours later, though they were sent earlier than other emails you've received? Okay, that sounds weird, but you'd know what I mean if you were looking at my inbox.

Cardinals should win tonight and I find myself strangely rooting for them. But Carpenter has been shaky and I'm having trouble believin' their bullpen won't give up a walk-off the entire series ('cause dammit our bullpen would do something like that! >:()

You're the second Astros fan I know to confess to rooting for the Cards this series!

I agree the stars seem mostly aligned for the Cards. I'm curious to see how it all plays out. I'm kinda hoping Maine will have a return to his occasional brilliant form; I don't want it to be like the Mets' whole season comes down on this poor kid losing both of his starts in the NLCS :/

Overall, I think I'm still bitter about the whole matter and am only a step or two away from being that Cubbie fan up in a tree. Yeah, but for whatever reason, I'm rooting for the Cardinals. I didn't plan on it, but during Game 2 I just realized I was cheering for them. It kind of weirded me out.

Game 2 is on Wagner - I don't blame the kid at all. It goes into the bottom of the 9th tied , I don't think there is a 10th.

I have no idea what will happen tonight. Nothing would surprise me.

Oh, that's right! He blew the first lead but I forgot he wasn't around for the late inning madness in the second game. Hahaha. Oh, Billy Wagner.

Well, for my part, I say here's to Maine going at least six tonight. **crosses fingers** Outside of a solid start by him, I don't really care if the Mets can't pull it out.

lol. how does that work exactly?

I guess I don't see the Mets' losing as really "collapsing". But then, that's prolly because I am the only person watching who didn't think that we'd get slaughtered by the Mets :P

Well, I'm not always faced with the circumstance where the comeback and the collapse are in such direct tension as they are here. Like, I could root for the Tigers to make the postseason and for the Twins to still make their amazing secondhalf run, because there were two slots, e.g.

As a Tigers fan staring down the spectre of Albert Pujols? GO METS GO! XD

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

lol, he's not exactly the healthy, threating Pujols of old. He's got as many homeruns in the NLCS as David Wright, at this point. I'd say be more afraid of facing Carpenter and Suppan than Pujols ^_~ That lame-ass Mets starting rotation would be throwing batting practice to your offense, my goodness.

From: [identity profile] knowledgequeen.livejournal.com

True, true. I'd forgotten about Suppan (okaysodon'tknowNLsueme). XD But yes. The Mets, I know, are kinda hurting for pitching about now. I totally agree; our hitters would be getting a lot of fat pitches.

Mets in seven. But I'll deny ever saying that after this LCS. Go Tigers, regardless of who wins.

My gmail is a-okay. Hope yours fixes itself, soon!

lol, it's okay, I won't hold it against you :P

The gmail thing is so weird! It's been like this for a few days too :/

While I want the Mets to win, I think either of them will get swept by Detroit. :P

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

I'm fairly sure the Mets would get swept. They have noooooo pitching outside of your new crush. The Cards, I think they have a better chance of winning at least one, but I don't see either team beating Detroit.
