1.) I was so sure ESPN was gonna jinx by going to live coverage. Every time ESPN goes to live coverage of something, I think of Bartolo Colon throwing that no hitter against the Yankees and losing it one batter into ESPN's live coverage.

2.) But in retrospect, I am so thankful to ESPN for cutting back to Florida for the top of the 8th and 9th innings ^_~

3.) I am so irritated ESPN cut away during the celebration to go back to a Boston-White Sox game that is a complete BLOWOUT and that is already being televised on WGN. GO BACK TO FLORIDA.

4.) I walked all the way over to campus to post about this, because holy hannah, you guys. I love this team. That shot of them surrounding Anibal on the mound, a mass of pure joy. Man, if I get to see a Wild Card celebration after seeing that, it's just icing on the cake at this point.

I could not adore this team more. I stood by the window in my apartment and managed to get enough of a cellphone signal to call [Bad username or site: phantom_hpuff / @ livejournal.com] and squee. I am so happy for Anibal, so thrilled for every single one of them.

YAY FOR BASEBALL MAKING US BOTH HAPPY!!!

The first thing I saw when I turned on ESPN after getting home from the game was Anibal Sanchez jumping for joy, and I immediately thought "NO-HITTER HOW AWESOME" and then "OHHHH Myr's going to be all asquee!" :-D What a great story this team has been; I'm happy you're enjoying it so much. *hugs*

I have baseball happiness tonight as well; the Wings won their first playoff game since 1997 (and MY FIRST EVER)! 8-D Thus I have a new default icon.

I caught the 9th when ESPN cut into it - awww that was beautiful to watch! :) I vaguely remember Sanchez mowing down the Astros on one of Clemens starts and thought the Stros were just chokin' again with Roger on the mound ;) Then later I started hearing the kid was picking up more steam and wins but never would have guessed ... :)

So, so happy for Anibal. ^_^ Perhaps a little less happy about the renewed how-did-we-trade-away-all-these-guys discussion here, but things happen. I have the feeling the Marlins environment this year was far better for both Anibal and Hanley than anything in the Red Sox system would have been.
