I felt like posting, though I resisted the impulse, not really having anything to post about. But what the hell, when has that ever stopped anyone in the history of lj. Three things.
+ Bri went to the Royals/As game yesterday and put her new camera to good use. I have a tremendous amount of love for this pic and this pic, especially. And about 20 other pics. She got some neat shots.
+ I was thinking to myself how times have changed, when I'm more excited about an NL rivalry matchup (STL-HOU later this week) than Yankees/Sox. And then all the hullabaloo today about the Sox trading for Mirabelli, and the Yankees trying, and completely failing, at swooping in to intervene, and something about that was just so very I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME, GADGET! NEXT TIME! and entirely amusing to me. Also, my f-list is all atwitter about Mirabelli's return, and their enthusiasm is kinda catching. I imagine this is pretty much the last time you will see Sox fans unconditionally happy for the next 7 months. It's a special day.
+ I love when my local grocery store hires new register people, and you can always tell who they are, because they're all shiny and they try to make small talk with you as they're ringing you up, except they're not quite good at it yet, so mostly they just offer nonsequitur after nonsequitur and you're a bit...what? Still, they're so earnest, it's cute.
There was something else...but I've forgotten. Alas.
eta: Oh and speaking of grocery stores - Denise Lee Richards! What the hell? I mean, seriously.
edit 2: Hypothetically speaking, if someone were interested in getting themselves a copy of Photoshop CS, it would probably be a good idea to join [Bad username or site: ysi_leftovers / @ livejournal.com]. Some of the most interesting things show up there.
edit 3: Oh man, I just noticed a few new friends. **waves** Hey. Welcome, for as long as you stick around ^_~ I'm in the last week of exams, so I'm not adding anyone right now, but I look forward to the opportunity tocyber-stalk get to know you ^_^

I'll say! Jen showed me that first picture late last night...she was so excited about it. :-) Just beautiful.
I was thinking to myself how times have changed, when I'm more excited about an NL rivalry matchup (STL-HOU later this week) than Yankees/Sox.
We're getting to you, aren't we? ;-) I'm so freaking out about it. Seriously. My stomach's going to be in a knot all week. I can never eat dinner before a game Andy pitches anyway...now I'll be lucky if I can eat at all Thursday. /freakout (Well, not really. But I won't continue it here.)

LOL. Understatement of the century, perhaps. Hee.
We're getting to you, aren't we? ;-)
**laughs** You are.
My stomach's going to be in a knot all week.
Aww. Definitely the sign of a good rivalry XD I'm sure Bri will try to play it cool, but I'm sure Cards fans will probably be up for this rematch too ^_~

Perhaps. I've always had a gift for understatement. :-) Lovely picture, nonetheless.
**laughs** You are.
Serves you right, I say, for dragging me into this mess in the first place. It's bad enough my stomach is in knots about hockey right now....
Definitely the sign of a good rivalry XD
Or of a devoted girl who cares deeply for a certain southpaw. I'm going with the latter.

I'll stay out of her way. Hell, I'll probably stay out of everyone's way. I'll be a basket-case, hiding in my cube/room until it's all over (except on Thursday, when I'll be a basket case at the Juice Box).

Yes, we are. And yeah, it was a late night last night, wasn't it? I had one of those "must go to sleep, but talking baseball with Jen is far too much fun" fights with myself. Sleep eventually won.

Yeah, it's a pretty good... hey, wait a second... seven months puts us into December, and that's after the playoffs. You're mean.
Also, I'm not unconditionally happy, but I figured a post of Astros Must Win! Yay, Mirabelli! Nationals Still Have No Owner, Damn It! was a little too schizophrenic, and I was trying to give breaking news to all of my Boston peeps before they got it elsewhere, too.

I think so. Besides, at the very least, the good guys need to stockpile wins so neither division comes down to the kiss-your-sister way it was decided the Yanks had won the AL East last year ^_~ (I was actually rooting for the Yanks to take the division last year - long story - and I still hated the way it was decided.)
Btw, the whole Cincinnati thing just boggles my mind. I'm glad to be out of April and into the month when teams start coming down to Earth.

LOL. Well, I figure the only other time Sox fans are unconditionally happy is when the current season is behind them, and winter meetings are right around the corner and they've already got stars in their eyes about who the team will sign in the offseason to make next year's club better ^_~

And also, you're a special case :P

?????? What sort of long story is this? It sounds weird, magical, and vaguely vomit-inducing. I eventually decided not to be upset about the way that got decided because the Astros won the Central title over the Cardinals the same way one year, and I can't begrudge that.
And also, you're a special case :P
Looking back a little introspectively, I think it's kind of obvious that I am a baseball schizophrenic, which is more than a little scary. I think the little summary right there shows what each fanbase is like:
Astros: Unnaturally optimistic, if we just work hard enough at this, we'll put things together again
Red Sox: Everything is baseball karma coming to smack us for things we haven't done, even our good news gets spoiled by the damn Yankees*
Nationals: This team is totally on crack, they really are out to get us, and the constant hum of everyone saying "Oh no they di-in't!"
DAMN IT ONE DAY CLOSER TO THE STADIUM GROUNDBREAKING AND THEY STILL HAVEN'T NAMED AN OWNER. OH NO THEY DI-IN'T!!!!111 AT LEAST THEIR NEW STADIUM IN ANACOSTIA IS CLOSER TO ALL OF THE CRACK!!!!11
Oh, man, I got bitter for a moment there.

So you just made me literally WHEEZE with laughter with that statement. WHEEZE.

Ah, unconditional happiness with your team. Something I've forgotten how to feel. :-p
BTW did you ever read that comment I made about 7 posts back (the one with the B-More Sun article you linked to? If you have time in the future I really would like to hear your thoughts on the matter, but only if/when you have a moment. :-)
