Any Wilco fans on my f-list? Anyone seen them live? I remember buying a couple of their albums on sale some time ago and I wasn't crazy about their sound, but they're coming to campus later this month, and I was thinking about going.

And I just realized I forgot the free screening of American Dreamz in Merchant's Square yesterday. I am the worst Hugh fan ever.

lol, well, are they "better" in person? Or do they sound pretty much like they do on their cds?

well. I haven't actually seen them live. But my brother, a percussion major at university of maryland, has. I can ask him for you if you want. :D

**laughs** No, that's alright. I suppose I can google for concert reviews.

so, you're thinking about going to a concert of a band you don't like?

I just wasn't terribly impressed. Wilco's one of those bands you hear SO MUCH about, and then when I finally sat down with their records I was like "...this is it?"

But a live show can be completely different, so if they're one of those bands that really mixes it up when they play live, and their shows are enthusiastic, and more of an experience, it might be worth it to go.

When you do see it, let me know what you think. I'm quite excited about the film. :-)

The real fan pays to see him. ;)

Not sure if the mixture of making fun of politics and the entertainment industry at the same time will really work, but hopefully it'll be good for a few laughs. Looking forward to hear your thoughts.

lol, OH SHUT IT. I paid to see Mickey Blues Eyes in theatres. He owes me one :-P

I'm a little wary of it, too, to be honest. I mean, are we really at a place yet where suicide bombers are funny because they sing showtunes? We'll see.

I love Wilco, but I've never seen them live. I vote for you to go though :p

Well, on the one hand...tickets are only $10. On the other hand, it's the weekend before exams. On the one hand, it could be a lot of fun, a way to destress. But on the other hand, I'm *not* a fan, so I won't know the words to their songs and all that, so how much fun could it be?

I dunno. I'm gonna poke around for reviews of their stage shows and see what the general consensus is.
