[Poll #612919]

The Lab has re-introduced Three Witches, which completely blows me away. I can pretty much sell off the rest of my BPAL now, because I've always felt that if Three Witches came back, that's all I'd ever wear. So, so awesome.

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] phantom_hpuff and [livejournal.com profile] scornedsaint: I finally sent out your postcards! And I bought stamps while I was at the PO - the Bailamos collection? I love them, they're so...happy and colorful. (As Ash would say, We're happy and we're singing and we're colored!) I want to send people random mail, for the express purpose of using these stamps :-P

Stressed, stressed, and stressed some more. But have a good day, everyone!
The new agreement calls for first-time offenders to be suspended for 50 games, second-time offenders to be suspended for 100 games and third-time offenders to be banished from baseball for life. The penalties are identical to those proposed by Commissioner Bud Selig earlier this year.

The new package, which will take effect next season, also bans amphetamines and calls for an increased number of tests.
-- MLB, Union agree on stricter steriods policy

Hmmm. I love that they stuck with 50 games for a first time offense. I guess motherfuckers better LEARN TO READ. And not have their teammates give them shots. Oh, and the Mariners might want to take out billboards this time.

Way to be, NY Papers )

For [Bad username or site: tinkelo / @ livejournal.com]: Seven songs I'm digging right now.
1. Karen Dalton - Something On Your Mind
2. Hawthorne Heights - Niki FM
3. Tom McRae - Mermaid Blues
4. Kelly Willis - Not Forgotten You
5. Shakira feat. Alejandro Sanz - La Tortura
6. Tegan & Sara - My Number
7. Air - Alone in Kyoto

Yeah, I'm listening to a lot of old stuff. What can I say? I never put on the radio anymore and I haven't watched MTV since Justin went solo.

**yawns** Judge Baker, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

ETA: [Bad username or site: piney61 / @ livejournal.com] wins at linkage today :-P

A-Rod came on the Dan Patrick Show today, and it was apparently a big deal, because A-Rod and Patrick "haven't spoken" in a few years? Dan opened the show by announcing that A-Rod was coming on, and he appreciated it, because "We had a falling out about 4 years ago. It had to do with Derek Jeter. We have not spoken since then."

Does anyone know the details of this dust-up? Four years ago and the reference to Jeter makes me think this had something to do with the infamous Esquire interview. If I had to guess I'd imagine Dan had Alex on the show to defend his comments and explain just how it was he'd been taken out of context. And Dan can get pretty argumentative so I'm guessing he probably called a guy with no rings, on a last place team, for questioning what Derek Jeter contributes to his club. And A-Rod probably got all pissy and ended the interview, or something.

More from A-Rod's interview with Dan Patrick, and I totally embarrass myself so let's not talk about this again, ever, okay? )

Oh, but Bri, we don't have to feel bad for mocking him all the time, because he says he doesn't care what people outside the game think of him ^_~ Ugh, and now he's invoking the I-grew-up-poor card and defensively comparing his salary to the salaries of actors and investment bankers and omg I THOUGHT YOU DIDN'T CARE WHAT PEOPLE THOUGHT OF YOU.

Okay, I had to turn it off. I almost made it through the whole thing, but he totally lost me at the end there. Seriously. Wilbon is right. What a martyr complex.
