Wow, they totally faked me out. [Bad username or site: scornedsaint / @ livejournal.com] had posited earlier that Michelle was gonna kick the bucket in the first 15 minutes. Once Palmer went down, I thought Michelle and Tony were safe at least until the second hour. Silly me. How is it this show can take out 3 characters I love, and I still adore it? Oh writers, you hurt me so good. Rest in peace, David Palmer. You were a good man. God rest your soul, Michelle Dressler. You served your country honorably. Also? You were the single best female character on this show. (Which, okay, probably isn't such a tremendous accomplishment considering 98% of the women on this show have been EVIL. Dina was cool and all, but she went out like a bitch, and that counts against her in awesome points. Also. She was a terrorist. Whoops. And Sherry overstayed her welcome.) You'll be missed.
Soul Patch is still hanging in there, bless his heart. Also, the Cubs mug made a cameo :-P Yay, Cubs mug.
I love Chloe. For the record. I love the Chloe/Jack dynamic not even in any kind of shippy way. And Jack. The first thing he slaps on when he has to get back in the game? His watch. That's our Jack.

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK! Oh Geraint Wyn-Davies...the years have not been kind.
So 30 minutes into any season of 24 one can usually tell whose storyline will be the annoying timewaster you don't care about. This season, we seem to have two: Derek and the First Lady. I'm watching the clock any time they're on screen, and that's not a good thing. Why is it that we must always be subjected to a teen character on this show? Do they really think kids under 21 won't watch unless we have a stupid teen in peril every hour?
Also, I really despise President Logan. And not in that 'bad guy you love to hate' way either. I wish I could hope he would die this season, but the way this show has gone through POTUSes, I don't see that happening. Unfortunately.
Cheers to Audrey for reminding everyone how crazy it is that Jack would turn his back on a lifetime of service to just start murdering his closest friends. Not that any of these hacks are listening to her. Still, I appreciate the effort. But as we well know, nothing convinces like the Sutherland Velvet.
I love Chloe. I do, I do. I love her unfailing faith in Jack. She is the ultimate Mary Sue, and she should bug majorly, but I love her. SHE WINZ.
Though, seriously 24 writers? I'm over people who are close to the President being closet baddies. It happens EVERY SEASON. And since no one will ever do it better than Sherry with her crazy manipulatin' ways, it just makes me yawn.

And then he realized that Jack was kick ass and amazing and CALLED HIM JACK and yeah. So, big love.
Plus, I love Chloe and she cared JUST enough to tell Derek about Jack. Not that that means anything, but STILL.

YES. Even though I wanted to **face-palm** when he got out of the car, I loved him for wanting to warn Jack. I loved that the gravity of what was going on registered with him sooner rather than later, and that UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE he could get his head out of his ass about it.

I love Chloe too (Although she's not the Ultiimate, Yet Likable, Mary Sue. That title belongs to Hannah on Everwood). If anything happens to her, the writers are so very dead.

Michelle had a pretty good run, and I'm just glad she didn't suffer. And I love the way she went out, on her way to contribute because she couldn't stand aside and do nothing. Much more heroic than if she'd just realized they needed eggs or something :-P
If anything happens to her, the writers are so very dead.
Man, that would blow so hard. I can imagine them doing it though, towards the end of the season? They seem to like to give Jack a gut check around hour 19 or so? And Chloe just always comes through for Jack. What would he do without her? Honestly, I have no idea how he made it through the first two seasons :-P

I wouldn't put it past them, but it would be pointless. Of course, they dragged out Audrey's husband's death for months last year, so who knows.
What struck me as funny was right after the explosion someone said "Tony isn't doing to well" and I thought "Well, DUH! His wife just died, I don't think he'll be all sunshine and roses." Then Chloe said he was in critical condition, and I understood. Nice job, writers.

I think it must be from Veronica's Closet that I knew her (I loved that show so much!) but I suspect I've also seen her in several of those movies listed.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the books. I loved them to death and still do. The movie made a valiant try, but there's just something about words on a page that does a much better job of communicating the salty dry British wit :-P I hope it aids you in your quest ^_~

I am enjoying the book...trying to figure out if its too unweildy to take the the gym -- I'm thinking it is. I rented the movie right after I finished the book. I disliked its departure from cannon -- because the cannon is so short, there really wasnt a need to change it. But I did love that Ford Prefect was Mos Def, and that the voice of Marvin was Alan Rickman -- and the illustrations of the actual Guide.
Not sure if its helping with my quest -- but he is amused that I like it. And that dose lend itself to the oppertunity to laugh like 7 year olds when one of us simply says -- 42. Its the guy in the picture where I'm looking quite intoxicated that I showed you on the new camera in IP.

I used to fucking HATE chloe when she was first introduced but now I like her. Ever since she took up that field op last minute I've been impressed. And she took care of Charlie Brown's baby :) But this season, it all changes. CAUSE SPENCER HTI THAT. I hate him though, I hope he gets killed off soon.
At first I hated the Goonie being in the show, but picking up on the Flank 2 is pretty key.
The kid and mother must be written out of the story, immediately.

From your keyboard to God's mainframe. I'm hoping they're the early storyline that is always resolved by like hour 6, at which point the other storylines kick up a notch? I really, really hope that's the case.
