Yoinked from [Bad username or site: trailer_spot / @ livejournal.com]: Sanaa Lathan's got a new romantic comedy coming out (trailer: Something New). Ash, Nish...thoughts? :-P That would so be my dad's nightmare. As a man who married outside his race, it amuses me that he thinks he could say anything if I did bring a white boy home. Fathers. How embarassing.

Couple interesting reads in the NYT recently.... I'm being a lazy bint without linkage but yesterday there was a fascinating story on half-siblings (the children of donor insemination) looking each other up. Awww @ the biological imperative to seek out our blood. I think it was the second most emailed story yesterday and it should still be on the list if you check. (Hello, I'm your sister. Our father is Donor 150. or something like that.) And in the entertainment section today, there's a story on the recent spat of straight actors in gay/transgendered roles (with special emphasis on PSH's work in Capote, Cillian Murphy's work in Breakfast on Pluto, and Heath and Jake in "the gay cowboy movie", which, hilariously, is totally how the article refers to BBM.)

Btw, email notification is being wonky all around, [Bad username or site: trailer_spot / @ livejournal.com]. I've left 5 comments today that haven't been emailed to me yet, and I just saw more grumbling about it from someone else on my flist.

I remember reading that the guys were working on material for a new album during their tour, so maybe these are the early fruits of their labor? I couldn't find them listed as B-sides to any of the singles...

The Killers - Where Is She

The Killers - All The Pretty Faces

and for good measure, a dressed down version of All These Things That I've Done from a performance on VH-1:

The Killers - All These Things That I've Done (Acoustic)

ETA: I should be reading for Evidence, but instead I'm reading over your responses to the Let's Run Away poll. You guys crack me up. I don't drink at all now though, so I'm a little amused that 90% of you seem intent to turn me into some kind of alcoholic while we're away. And I was entirely amused that most of you recognized that once baseball season started up, it would have to be over between us. Hee.

Because you shared The Killers love with us, here are the links to the stories you mentioned (interesting reads, both of them, and I laughed out loud and thought of you when the article mentioned The Gay Cowboy Movie!):

Hello, I'm Your Sister. Ou Father Is Donor 150. (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/11/20/national/20siblings.html)

The Winner Is...Only Acting Gay (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/11/20/movies/20jame.html)

BTW, now officially a lawyer! Took the oath, have the bar card, and everything. :-)

COMMENTARY

HAHAHAHAHAHA, Myr, you are a FOOL! I love it.

Um... I wish one of my brothers would get crazy like that, because Lawd knows they invented that. LOL.

After seeing Guess Who, I'll probably pass. However, can I continue to rave about "Shopgirl?" CAN I! CAN I! What a movie.

Re: COMMENTARY

I saw that you enjoyed that. I keep meaning to check out the trailer, because I think I've heard about the movie but I'm not sure what all it's about.

aw, you weren't an alcoholic, it was just that one night...

and the baseball season breakup was a bit selfish 'cos it was just as much for me as for you... but that's the beauty of having another baseball friend. they can understand you.

ok, really just stalling so I can avoid making a real life post *sighs and sucks it up*

**laughs** Well, I suppose it shouldn't have been any surprise I couldn't handle my liquor ^_~

I'm sorry you're having troubles again, duckie.

LET ME FIND OUT!

What's this about you drinking! Let me find out. To quote Anna Mae's mama on "What's Love Got To Do With It" - "I'm the only sinnah in this house, you hear?"
