Oh, no, no, no, no, no!

They can't!

**cries**

They had better not be about to do what I think!

OMG, DO THEY THINK I AM GONNA LAUGH ABOUT VALA BEING SENT OFF INTO THE ORI GALAXY?

**stabs**

I suppose they had to do something drastic - you don't want to kill her off, but you can't make it too easy for the fans to clamor for her return. Which I imagine we all would have done because she was way too much fun. I'm gonna miss her! I really didn't think she would work at all over an extended stay, but I was wrong.

"The force field is expanding."
"Yes."
"It's not supposed to do that."
"No."
"How is it doing that?"
"I don't know."
"What are you going to do about it?"
"Will you shut up?"

I'm gonna be counting down the days until we see her again :-P I would have loved to see more Teal'c/Vala.

Overall, I thought the ep kept up the strong run we've had to start the season. Pretty well-paced, no Lam (yay!), and we had tension coming from all sides. I'm finding LGJ's Garek a little flat, but then I said that about Vala when she first showed up and she worked out well enough.

I'm such a sad excuse for a sci-fi fan; all these years and I didn't get it until the uber-expansion that their weapons were powering the Gate. How many times have I seen that plot device used in the Trek-verse alone?

The Ori freak me out more and more with each ep! Devious little bastards they are.

I notice again the nice, comfortable chemistry between Sam and Cam Mitchell. I was assuming from the breakfast comment in the premiere that they had some kind of history, like I'm positive they must have worked together before, but we haven't gotten anything confirmed from TPTB on that, have we?

Loved the opening bit with the gang playing two-on-two. Loved Vala's dramatic and pouty exit into the gate. What's wrong with an SG-1 team of 5? It would have worked! :-P

/////

Btw, caught the tail end of SG:A before BSG and um...yeah. I think I can see why the slash fans have flocked to that fandom :-P

This show rocks so hard. Even a little thing, like Birch scewing up the Viper training exercise, has me on the edge of my seat.

Was that "You love me" exchange between Kara and Lee weird or what? Should have been cute, and it was a little...but it just seemed odd under the circumstances.

So I've been watching this show for over a season and I have no idea what Mystical!BlackWoman's name is. And now she's dead. Peace, M!BW.

Go Dee! That scene between her and Adama tended a bit towards the heavy handed, but it was well acted on her end. I need a Dee icon.

Next Week: OMGWTF. Reunited! That bearded H!ITG! is no good. I predict he'll be dead by ep's end :-P

In other news, Toronto finally loses a fucking game and can we capitalize? Oh, no. Thanks, Steve. Every single time I start to think remotely good thoughts about Steve Kline, he does something to remind me how much I hate his life. I watched him sign autographs on Sunday for a good 20-30 minutes and I said to myself, "Aww, how can you hate a guy who signs autographs in 100 degree heat for more than the usual 5 minutes?" The answer? VERY FUCKING EASILY.

He sucks, and he's a detriment to the team. Let him take his two million dollars and GO HOME.

And Todd Williams? You can also stop having 3 run innings now, thanks.

I so just wrote about the 'You love Me' scene. I thought it was pretty well done, actually.

After that whole forced business between them about Gaius, I was a little afraid of how Lee/Kara was going to be developed. I suppose I should be glad Lee's admission wasn't dwelled on and made into a whole Drawn Out Thing. Points for that, at any rate.

From: [identity profile] maggiesox.livejournal.com

I was a tad worried about that, but I figure Kara has other things on her mind, which is why it took a minute and she had to resort to teasing.

Must go find more Battlestar Icons.

Definitely. And I did like the little touch of her having brought back a pyramid ball with her. Oh, Not!Lee, you may be back home on Caprica fighting the good fight, but you are not forgotten :-P

And yes! You have 100 icons now. THERE IS NO EXCUSE.

(Btw, does Mystical!BlackWoman have a name? Am I just an asshole?)

Dude, I have no fucking clue what her name is.

Here. Try this shiny new icon on for size.

I feel so bad for Erik Bedard. Steve Kline always blows his games and the offense can never be bothered to shower him with loads of run support until his pitch count is around 90.

I think Sam P was wrong to let him face the second batter in the eighth, and how he handles this mistake will go a long way in determining his rapport with the pitchers and the team.

Just my $0.02

Yeah, it's something of a terrible running theme :( There's always that one guy on the staff, and for us, it's certainly Erik.

I think Sam P was wrong to let him face the second batter in the eighth

Yeah, I agree. Especially since Boone had already gotten a big hit off him earlier in the game. I know they say all the time that in the old days guys would throw 120 pitches no problem, but I just get really nervous when I see a guy around 100 pitches late in a close game. For me, at that first sign he's not gonna be able to get those three outs, you go to your bullpen.

I didn't get a chance to watch this game so I'm curious as to whether Erik wanted to stay in or whether it was Sammy P's call alone to leave him in.

OMG, DO THEY THINK I AM GONNA LAUGH ABOUT VALA BEING SENT OFF INTO THE ORI GALAXY?

Right, so I'm straight up calling this bullshit! BULLSHIT! They had about as perfect a setup as could be imagined that would explain just why Vala was a member of SG-1 and they go and fucking blow it! I really was trying to not be pissed about it, but I is. Vala really brought something new and shifted the dynamic of the team, more so than Cam has up so far(not hating, Vala is just so different), to make things feel really new and now they go and get rid of her. For what? To make room for Sam? More on her later.

Well the good thing is I really really liked the episode. Actually this is the first episode of the season that I liked better than the BSG of the same night. The tension was really great. Stuff was just going on all over the place. I geeked out when that Ori dude staff-blasted those 4 people halfway across the planet in the beginning. That was AWESOME! Ori kick the Go'auld ass so hard. They've really pulled off making the Ori spooky and I'm all kind of curious to see where they take them. Did you get a TOS/TNG type of feel from this ep or was that just me? The beaming down and hailing somebody and having them up on the console while having the crew in position on the bridge? The dude in charge of the Prometheus is THE WORST! He couldn't of been any more dry.

I really dug the reveal of them pulling back to show what the Ori were building. I had a total "...oh damn" moment.

So Sam is back. That should be a yay (especially from me) but it's not even close. Not only was she out shown by Vala majorly, but she felt like she was a SG-Redshirt. It was like she was the special guest extra of the week, brought in only to spew some technobabble to move the plot along. She didn't even go down to the planet? WTF? And so damn boring. Like Cam has a natural charisma that makes him likeable, Vala is just fun, Danny is a dork, Teal'c is the teddy bear, and Sam is the...cardboard? Maybe this will get better as things go on, but I fear that she's gonna lose something major with the loss of Jack. His character brought something out in her and with him not around to play off off? She was the Scully to his Muldger, and we know how sucky X-Files got (ok, but maybe this wasn't Daggets fault). Again, we'll see. This might just be the pain of Vala being gone talking :).

About her - I knew the second they were ignoring her suggestion that this was going to be her last ep. I'm glad they didn't kill her off, but they might as wella done. I've seen the promised land, and the sg-1 produces slammed the door in my face. One thing I thought was kinda interesting was that Claudia and Ben didn't even really play off of each other during the Vala-eps. Vala was clearly Danny's plot device and his device only. They handled her character arc quite well. She was around only 5 eps and I totally buy that she's some what redeemed. Sure she's still gonna canive and be a sexpot, but she does care about what happens to people now (WHICH IS ALL THEY NEEDED TO ESTABLISH TO KEEP HER ON THE FUCKING TEAM!). I shouldn't complain so much because this is the show that gave me Claudia in pink skivvies. The Vala/Danny snarkiness really grew on me - definitely gonna miss that.

Im finding LGJ's Garek a little flat, but then I said that about Vala when she first showed up and she worked out well enough.

Yeah, I think he was being too Lou Gossetty last night. Some of his line deliveries were weird I found.

I'm ready for a Teal'c episode now.

From: [identity profile] johnnybvo.livejournal.com

BSG was really good, but it's to the point now where I don't expect any misses from the show.

This show rocks so hard. Even a little thing, like Birch scewing up the Viper training exercise, has me on the edge of my seat.

That was such a cool scene. I really thought they were gonna kill girl who's name I cannot remember. Not!Hotdog. I wonder what was up with Birch though. Like I wouldn't expect someone like Adama to make such a major flaw in reading someones character or abilities. You think they did this to show Adama is still getting his sea legs back? Reason I say that is because of the Dualla scene as well. Did that seem weird to you? I honestly cannot see Dualla pushing Adama so hard, no matter how strong she feels about the situation. Especially not after he's still fresh from almost dying.

So I've been watching this show for over a season and I have no idea what Mystical!BlackWoman's name is. And now she's dead. Peace, M!BW.

Mystical Black Woman? LOL, you're stupid...and you know I have no fucking idea what her name is.

Was that "You love me" exchange between Kara and Lee weird or what? Should have been cute, and it was a little...but it just seemed odd under the circumstances

I liked it, but I can see where the weird comes in. I don't like how Lee is seemingly throwing himself at Starbuck (kissing her as soon as she boards, telling her he loves her and those mannish shoulders of hers...). That weirds me out more than anything else since Starbuck doesn't seem like she would run from him at all. Bamber did a really good job this ep I thought. Him holding court in the beginning of the episode was really cool. I loved how he delivered the line: "If Galactica wants to take us down there is nothing we can do about it, nothing". That second nothing had an "you stupid motherfuckers" feel to it. Lee rules. It's hard to say but I think he might be my favorite character on the show.

I can understand how she was acting inside of the situation the character is in, but even still Roselyn was giving me major bitca vibes last night. I totally sympathized with Boomer during their scenes and was wishing Rose would throw out a hip or something so as to not torment my favorite Cylon agent. Whoo! For Boomer validating herself in the forest though. Oddly enough, I had no problem with Lee spazzing at Boomer.

I dare say that SG-1 and BSG are the best one two punch on any channels primetime lineup (everything I thought Alias and Lost were going to be last season).

Btw, caught the tail end of SG:A before BSG and um...yeah. I think I can see why the slash fans have flocked to that fandom :-P

Dude! WTF was that? My DVR caught that and I'm sitting here with a 2 minute long "...ummmmmmm".

And sorry for the novella. There is more (was hoping to catch you online this morning to talk your head off), but I need to get some sleep :P

I really thought they were gonna kill girl who's name I cannot remember. Not!Hotdog.

Me too! I was like, damn, this show is so cold. It will kill people off in a minute, to make a point.

Like I wouldn't expect someone like Adama to make such a major flaw in reading someones character or abilities. You think they did this to show Adama is still getting his sea legs back?

I think so. Otherwise, maybe it was a thing where he was looking for someone very unlike Lee to replace his traitorous son, and he picked Birch. But I don't really know enough about Birch to back that theory. I think yours is pretty likely. I mean, he had gone through a lot in a short while; it's understandable that he might be off his game.

Did that seem weird to you? I honestly cannot see Dualla pushing Adama so hard, no matter how strong she feels about the situation. Especially not after he's still fresh from almost dying.

I can see that argument, but honestly no, I didn't think the scene seemed weird. I really liked the line she had were she called him on just looking for a sounding board. Only thing, I thought it got a little heavy handed with that anvilicious pause after she started to say that families had been torn apart by the separation of the fleet.

I don't like how Lee is seemingly throwing himself at Starbuck (kissing her as soon as she boards, telling her he loves her and those mannish shoulders of hers...). That weirds me out more than anything else since Starbuck doesn't seem like she would run from him at all.

Heh. I was just chalking it up to Lee overreacting a bit to being free from the restraints of being her superior officer, since he has to believe he'll be courtmartialed if his father and co. ever get a hold of him.

Lee rules. It's hard to say but I think he might be my favorite character on the show.

Cool. I was thinking the other day about how I don't really have a favorite character on this show anymore. It used to be Helo, but I haven't liked him as much this season. I liked him better when he didn't have so much dialogue :-P

I can understand how she was acting inside of the situation the character is in, but even still Roselyn was giving me major bitca vibes last night.

She was! I was feeling very protective of my poor Capri!Boomer. (Btw, now that Galacti!Boomer is no more, I guess I can just call her Boomer now...but it feels weird :-P)

Oddly enough, I had no problem with Lee spazzing at Boomer.

That was a fun little standoff too. Kara was being all useless though.

Dude! WTF was that? My DVR caught that and I'm sitting here with a 2 minute long "...ummmmmmm".

LOL. Yeah, I don't know, dude.

There is more (was hoping to catch you online this morning to talk your head off), but I need to get some sleep :P

Sorry! I was so bad today. My brother called me at about 9:45 and laughed at me because I was still half asleep when I answered the phone.

I'm glad we can be pissed about this together :(

Actually this is the first episode of the season that I liked better than the BSG of the same night.

Oh, high praise. They're definitely doing something right this season. Disappointing exit of Vala aside, I hope they can find some way to keep it up.

Did you get a TOS/TNG type of feel from this ep or was that just me? The beaming down and hailing somebody and having them up on the console while having the crew in position on the bridge?

I can't say that I did, but I can see what you mean.

The dude in charge of the Prometheus is THE WORST! He couldn't of been any more dry.

LOL, yeah. Is it just me and my crap memory or is the Prometheus commanded by someone different every time it goes out?

I really dug the reveal of them pulling back to show what the Ori were building. I had a total "...oh damn" moment.

Yes! How long has it been since this show has done that to us? I loved ralizing it at the same time the characters did :-P "Is it just me or does that look like a--"

It was like she was the special guest extra of the week, brought in only to spew some technobabble to move the plot along.

Yep, bored me to tears. It would have been interesting to see some interaction between her and Vala! I know what you mean about her losing something with Jack being out of the picture. Her smarts to Jack's denseness was a major go-to thing for the writers of this show, and they don't have that anymore. She definitely doesn't have that dynamic with any of the remaining guys.

I knew the second they were ignoring her suggestion that this was going to be her last ep.

Hee, yeah, that was the part where my years of sci-fi fandom didn't let me down. That never bodes well for an oft-maligned character.

One thing I thought was kinda interesting was that Claudia and Ben didn't even really play off of each other during the Vala-eps.

Nope, just that one scene where she tried to talk her way onto the SG-team. I think it's clear why the writers/tptb would want to keep them apart though.

I shouldn't complain so much because this is the show that gave me Claudia in pink skivvies.

Were they pink? They looked red on my screen. Just wondering.

The Vala/Danny snarkiness really grew on me - definitely gonna miss that.

Me too ^_^

I'm ready for a Teal'c episode now.

Not any time soon, unfortunately. Ep after next does involve the Jaffa, so it should give us some quality Teal'c/Cam at least.
