1. [Bad username or site: johnnybvo / @ livejournal.com] informs me DDD is running their biannual fuck me, I can't afford this shit but I'm gonna buy it anyway 20% off sale. Promotion code is SUPERSALE. I'm buying the Homicide seasons 1-5 boxset collection for a sweet $119 dollars. (These sets are individually priced in stores for anywhere from $69-$99.) Break that down by boxset and it's just under $30 a boxset (Seasons 1/2 are packaged collectively). Who can walk away from a deal like that? Not me, that's for damn sure. Also snagging the third season of Dead Zone ($17) and Keen Eddie ($20). Man alive, I love this promotion, but it kills me, 'cause you've got to draw the line somewhere. **stares wistfully at wishlist of Trek, Buffy X-Files, Babylon 5, Farscape, Highlander, Xena, Hercules and X boxsets** Btw, the Firefly boxset is only $23 if you don't own that yet.
Apparently the sale's running until the 25th, so if you plan on buying the SG-1 boxsets (which should break down to something like $27), you want to wait until the 21st when they're made available (you can't apply the promotional code to anything that isn't currently in stock).
2. Watched the extras on the Chappelle's Show season 2 set yesterday. There's a random bit during the "Dave's Extra Stand-Up" footage where Dave starts rambling about the Don Zimmer/Pedro incident. He's clearly not much of a baseball fan (he doesn't know the names and he misidentifies Pedro as PR) or anything but he was basically going on about everybody being on Pedro's case about it. "[T]hey all blamed the pitcher. How could he beat up that old man? What the fuck was he supposed to do? That old man was rushing him! You ain't supposed to let a motherfucker rush you just 'cause [he's] old. It wasn't like he was running up to shake his hand, he was mad! ...Shit, I'm young and healthy, and I [wouldn't] rush a Puerto Rican. What the fuck was he thinking? He's lucky he didn't get stabbed. That motherfucker was merciful."
3. Brian Michael Roberts, YOU SUCK. Don't even look at me until you've had a ten RBI game. I'm rescinding all the All Star votes I cast for your choking, non-delivering in the clutch ass.
