+ Most prominent among the new looks for this spring is Dan Haren's bushy wolfman beard, which has earned him some ribbing from GM Billy Beane. Haren likes the beard, but said he plans to be clean-shaven by the start of the spring games. - Weight a hairy issue in Spring Training
Thank GOD. Also, isn't it a little odd that there have been no stories (that I have seen) with any comments from Danny about how the starting rotation will handle things? Has pookie told reporters he's not taking questions that in anyway relate back to Barry? Aw. My emo little numberchanging jackass.
Beane also teased Huston Street about his wide sideburns; Street said he hasn't gotten clippers yet, and when he does, he'll be back to normal.
Street has been particularly proud of his weight gain as he pushed 200 pounds. He checks daily and noted a one-pound increase one morning. At a reporters' behest, he took off his shoes, and was precisely at 200.
**laughs** Okay then. But how's he gonna be able to do his crazy warmups when he's hauling around all that extra poundage? Though I hear he was big on yoga in the offseason, so I guess even when he's carrying the equivalent of triplets, he can still get loose.
+ Random clippage: A's @ Yanks on FOX. Saarloos in a bit of a jam. Joe and Tim start talking about Saarloos' nickname. I mostly love this for the part where Joe goes, "...what in the world are you talking about?" (8mb, wmv)
+ So I hear Miguel Tejada has decided to not be a douche this year. Good luck with that. I'm tired of being really embarrassed that I own a Miggy shirt.
+ I also saw that B-Rob suggested Danny Cabrera, Adam Loewen, and Erik Bedard could be another Huddy, Mulder, and Z. Which made me laugh. But I do like his enthusiasm, however ill-conceived.
+ I have a lot of stuff to get done today :/

I'm not crazy about it, but here it is (http://www.sendspace.com/file/55th9x), if you want it. I really love the original version by Dire Straits, so I tend not to like any of the covers, but I like to give them a listen, just in case :)

**covers Rich's ears**
Oh sure. Maybe Huston was just on a alcoholic diet for the weight gain.
Was that As/Yanks game from this year? I think I remember that. Big Frank hit a homer to LF?

I thought that was funny, too. The O's three could never be another Big Three, but they still could be special to the franchise the way HMZ were for the A's. The way Erik has been developing, there's a great possibility of his becoming a very, very good pitcher. From what I've read, Loewen has ace stuff. And Cabrera...if he could ever manage not to fire it to the backstop, holy shit! If they pan out like their talent suggests, they will give you the best rotation you've had in years. And at least one of those guys should become the first real ace you've had since...Mike Mussina? :-)
Thanks for the clip!
