SEATTLE -- With the drenched clubhouse all but empty save the still-celebrating players and team personnel, every member of the A's formed a circle and started chanting, "Go Zito! Go Zito! Go Zito."

Having found the appropriate beats to bump out of the stereo, veteran lefty Barry Zito stepped into said circle and broke into the kind of jig you might find in a teen hip-hop flick.

The chants grew louder, and after about 30 seconds of watching Zito gyrate, all elbows and knees and rubber ankles, the players each shook whatever bottle was in their hands and fired a frothy salute at the man in the middle.
- Zito glad this season has meaning. Urban piece on Zito coming to terms with this fact that this is likely might be his last hurrah as an Athletic. It's from three days ago, and I imagine most everyone's already read it but 1.) I just finally plucked up the courage to read it, because I'm odd about these things, and 2.) That mental image is PRICELESS, so really, no harm done in making anyone read it again.

It's also kinda sweet where he talks about going into the playoffs without Huddy and Mulder for the first time, but you didn't hear that from me.

Haren keeps an eye on Cards' plight. Bri keeps telling me she doesn't care about Dan Haren. That kinda talk is not gonna endear you to her, Danny!

Alright, I'm pretty excited about the baseball today! Scotty Olsen, who joined in the chorus of Marlins expressing total hatred for the Phillies and a desire to take Utley and co. down with them, pitches today against the Phils on Fox. (LOL, my baby fish are like angry teenagers now, or something.) The Marlins got slaughtered on ESPN last night, and they got killed on FOX last week, so I'm with [Bad username or site: phantom_hpuff / @ livejournal.com]. The only way to redeem the season series against the Phillies? Is with a brawl. And Scotty's crazy enough to do it.

But wait a minute, my story gets better: MIL @ STL early, HOU @ ATL later, OAK @ LAA tonight. I can totally get work done while keeping one eye on baseball for 14 hours, right? Right? Exactly.

eta: Family Guy loves Tim McCarver as much as you do. My brother linked me to this, so I don't know if it's been floating around for a while, but omg. It's funny, because it's TRUE.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

As long as the Phils win, I don't care.

...Don't mind me, I'll be over here crying into my beer.

lol, I'm just here for the purse slinging.

Buck up, little camper! Anything can happen :P

That icon makes me laugh. 'Cause anything CAN happen in baseball. & I just love being reminded that AJ got his ass whooped.

I'm totally getting one of those "Who says Cubs Can't Hit" shirts tomorrow. Even if it kills me.

MIL @ STL early, HOU @ ATL later, OAK @ LAA tonight

Btw, I HATE YOU

Also...dood. Wainey was Danny's roommate? And he goes and talks smack about him?? "unproven" yaddayaddabullshit. Makes me curious which former teammates are friends of his. I'm assuming that *doesnt* include Adam, because if that's the way Danny treats his friends, who needs him.

**scratches all over her Haren icon**

HEY. Don't hate on Danny cause he can be OBJECTIVE and stuff.

(I bet he used to give Barry updates on Mulder's season. Probably did that with a little sneer :p)

From: [identity profile] rickenbacker.livejournal.com

"Objectivism" is for the heart- and soul- less. CLEARLY DANNY IS BOTH.

Dood, he better NOT have dared. Danny does not have permission to speak Mulder's name.

Even Zito -- Republican, westcoast-deserting bastard that he is -- is way too good for Mr. #4 Starter.

All I know is, without the Phillies' changes in personnel, we wouldn't have Placido Polanco today. And while Omar Infante played great while Polanco was hurt, we were something like 7-19 while Polanco was out. You do the math. So thanks, Phils! XD

As they end tonight knowing for sure they're not headed to the postseason, I'm sure they're glad to have helped you guys out ^_~

And Scotty's crazy enough to do it.

Funny- after I saw the link to that from google's feed, I thought the exact same thing.
I admit you can totally tell Scotty's rabid temperament from that, & so part of me is hoping he won't have to put his foot where his mouth is after this weekend.

I definitely lmao-ed at that Family Guy clip. XD

Cute new layout! It reminds me of my brother, who's 3 yet he already knows how to pull up CartoonNetwork.com & play the games.

LOL! I was proud of him for knocking in a run, though. Way to be, Scotty.

Cute new layout!

Thanks! I think it might be a little too cute, but I was at a lost for any fandomy images to use, and it kinda amused me :P It's definitely a nice change; I've been meaning to do something a little different with my layout for a while.

LOL. Kinda scary?

Hee, yes. He kills me. Today, he was going on about Luis Pujols, the Cardinals MVP candidate. **face-palms**

Happy belated birthday, again, btw :P FOR REAL THIS TIME!
