The school's network went down around 12:15 am with something like two innings left to go in the A's game. SO I MISSED THE END OF THE GAME. Which is, of course, probably why the A's finally got the division taken care of.

[Bad username or site: oakchick75 / @ livejournal.com] is far better at sniffing these things out than I, but a look around this morning when I should have been reading for Family Law reveals:

+ Three minutes of raw footage of the clubhouse celebration via Action36 - stream // download. (I have little to say except that I kinda want to put Eric Chavez in my pocket.)
+ Screencaps of the on-the-field celebration here. (Under the story on the clinch is a link).
+ There's an FSN interview with Rich on MSN video, but there seems to be a problem with that site's encoding. I can bring up the vid on comcast but I can't rip from them, because they are smarter than me. Grr. I may take caps later if I can. Or record the video on my camera and put it up that way. Whatever. I'm probably completely overestimating interest in a 1 minute clip of Rich babbling.
+ MLB.com has audio interviews with several players here.

I fail to understand the point of offering people free downloads of the clinch game when mlb.tv couldn't even be bothered to carry the winning team's broadcast of the clincher or the celebration, but ANYWAY. The Seattle broadcast did have a little of the field celebration, so after class I'll see if I can clip more of that than MLB.com did. The stream is craaaaaawling right now. Check this space later if you're interested in that.

Saw some of the FSN footage on ESPN last night and thought to myself, God, Barry looks so sad! In her post, [Bad username or site: roxybritain / @ livejournal.com] characterizes Barry as looking rather "wistful" during the celebration. I like that description better. But I don't know what he's looking all wistful for - no one's MAKING him take a big money contract he can't possibly live up to in New York :( Stay in Oakland, man.

I have, like, no Oakland Athletics communities friended, so if those of you who do spot any of the clubhouse footage floating around those comms - give a sister a heads up? Please and thanks.

eta: Also, the local CBS affiliate had 10 minutes of raw celebration footage (with an amusing warning that it might contain explicit language) on their website -- stream // download. Interviews with Mach, Big Frank, Milton, Jay, and Chavvy.

Hmm...and I thought they finally clinched because no one in my family was at this game. Seriously. At least ONE member of my family has been at every game for the past week. Including Monday night. lol. We thought we were jinxing them!

Glad to know I was wrong and it was you ;) lololol.

Thanks for the footage. I haven't been able to see it yet either. Going to watch now :)

LOL, no wait - clearly it was you guys! :P

I found a little more this afternoon - KPIX had 10 minutes of raw clubhouse footage on their website -- stream (http://cbs5.com/video/?id=16687@kpix.dayport.com) // download (http://www.sendspace.com/file/qeuufl).

And I'll love it even more if I can find some footage of the Huston/Rich moment [Bad username or site: roxybritain / @ livejournal.com] described - something about Harden and Street almost embracing, with Street pulling up at the last moment to whisper something in Rich's ear ^_~

LOL. I didn't watch any of it until the 7th. Maybe they could somehow sense that we were't watching parts of the game?

I'm uber uber happy they finally got it done. :P

Heh, maybe that's what it was. Our powers were not COMBINED during any part of the game, so the A's were able to win, despite us ^_~

So am I, man. I'm especially happy because Chavvy will get to sit for a few days. Every story I've read this year, it sounds like he's trying to play through so much :(

A bit late, but is this still an issue, or is it old hat by now? If so, can you hook me up with a link?

No, it's good now, thanks! I don't know if it was my comp or something on their end, but I tried it again a few hours later and it worked fine ^_^

Thanks for looking out, though!

Wow, it's gotten much brighter here since last night. Very nice! :)
That reminds me that even after more than two years I still haven't found the time to dive into the depths of journal-layout formatting. I always thought about putting up a sidebar of posters of some of the big upcoming movies and where, if posssible, you can click through to the related trailers. One day ... :D

Yes, I know what you mean, it's gotten more and more tedious to get access to the various websites and file formats. I started to skip whole sites.

I'm very insecure if or how I should mention this, but the reason why I commented only so late was that I only yesterday noticed this entry. In the last couple of days I felt that access to some of your posts has become a bit volatile for me (now you see me, now you don't). I know you're somewhat self-conscious when it comes to who's reading your journal, but is there anything I should be concerned about? Just thought I ask. :)

Thank you! I've been wanting to do a layout change for the past month or so, but I'm more like you - I'm not too into the whole formatting thing. It's been a lot of trial and error for me; a lot of looking at posts on layout communities and thinking "What in the world does that mean?"

I was thinking of changing my layout from the Component to the Generator or Flexible Squares format, but I very quickly got frustrated, because I don't have any idea how to manipulate the coding for those formats. So I just stuck with my old layout and made some coloring/sizing changes instead, since those are fairly easy to do.

In the last couple of days I felt that access to some of your posts has become a bit volatile for me (now you see me, now you don't)

Nothing personal; it's been me being silly. When my posts are a combination of baseball and other stuff, I don't feel bad about posting a lot because I kinda figure "oh, well, there's something here for everyone." But I felt a little bad about the fact that I was posting entries that were entirely baseball-related -- so what I was doing for a while was posting those entries under a special filter of only the baseball fans on my f-list. Then I would go back the next day, or the day after that, and make the post public, because I figure the non-baseball fans on my f-list aren't likely to see the post at that point, when they're doing a scan of their friends page.

But then I worried "oh, but what about people who don't check their journals every day? They're still getting all my spammy posts of baseball clips!" So I went back and refiltered a few of those posts for a couple more days. And then I went back and made them public again. lol. So that's pretty much the story with that. When I have other more important things I should be doing, I find myself suddenly very concerned with little things that do not really matter :P

I once started to look into it to find out if I would be able to make changes the way I had in mind. But I quickly gave up since I wasn't even able to figure out where to start. That was a long time ago and my knowledge how things work have somewhat improved since then but I imagine it would still take me a long time. Especially in the beginning. Like you indicated, it's probably best if I first look for some sort of template and then try to tweak things.

posting those entries under a special filter ... make the post public ... I went back and ...

Then I'm glad I asked since I was wondering if I had started to hallucinate. Thanks for explaining it to me. I think everyone who's reading your journal has noticed by now that you have slightly more than just a passing interest in baseball. :)
