+ I finally stopped being anti and watched the BSG season 3 preview both [Bad username or site: sdwolfpup / @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: roxybritain / @ livejournal.com] had such a positive reaction to.
Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness :X
Remember when I was all wtff about the second season cliffhanger? And I may have, um, declared the show dead to me?
Yeah, I lied.
Boomer is allllllllliiiiiiiiive XD (I was a little worried when we didn't see her on Galactica after the jump ahead!) And that stuff on New Caprica might not be so bad after all. I'm a little surprised at how prominently featured Callie is, but I could get behind that. Lord knows I was gettin' reaaaaaaal tired of all the Lee and Kara-centric stuff towards the end of last season. And while I'm talking BSG, some time ago [Bad username or site: sdwolfpup / @ livejournal.com] linked to this neat little chat with Jane Espenson about writing for the show.
[Bad username or site: johnnybvo / @ livejournal.com] mentioned that SG-1 was back. It's kinda funny to me to remember how excited I was for Ben and Claudia to be joining the cast (CB's a fulltime cast member starting this season) and on tv again; besides a stretch of eps early last year, they haven't brought me back to the show at all. Oh, SG-1. We'll always haveParis those first four seasons.
+ Last week at work, and my last week in Virginia til I go back to school. PTL.
+ Watched the screener pilot for Heroes. Mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I'm interested to know what Nikki's deal is exactly, and I like the actress playing indestructo-girl Claire, in all her V Marsness. I thought the business with our Indian friend in the beginning was extreeeemely heavy handed, exposition-wise, but I might come to maybe like him. I figure he'll end up the person they go to for guidance, since he's our scholar. The Japanese character seems a caricature to the point of offense, but maybe that's just me. I love that little boy playing Nikki's son, though that kid needs to be careful; lol, actually I suppose it's too late. He's already been type cast as precocious little interracial child. He's pretty much the colored (male) Dakota Fanning. I find Flyboy booooooooooooooooooooring. I have no feelings on the brother, or the psychic. I thought the pilot moved too slowly and I'm not sure I would have kept watching if I'd come across it on tv. Is this everyone? I don't think we needed to meet them all at the same time; I think it might have worked better if they'd staggered the introductions over the first two episodes, at least. Let us learn a little more about each of them. Also, it's weird to me that the show starts off all "it will take time for them to learn who they are" when at least 3 of them already know they have powers and have used them. I did like the twist with indestructo-girl being the adopted daughter of Shadowy Government/Corporate Figure. I don't think I'll watch this on a weekly basis, but I might keep an ear out to see how things are developing and maybe tune in for an ep or three here and there. If it lasts.
+ The trailer for The Pursuit of Happyness gets me all verklempt, because I am so easily manipulated. I hate when Will Smith cries! It has the same effect on me as when SMG cries. Feels like a kick to my gut.
eta: Wow, there was no baseball in this post. So. Um. Here -> have an article on Scotty Olsen's anger issues. Another Marlin who doesn't seem to have a dad in the picture, I note. His mom sounds neat.
Olsen remains close to his teammates, especially pitchers Josh Johnson and Randy Messenger. It was Messenger who punched Olsen in the eye during a night on the town after a tough loss in St. Petersburg.
"Stupid things friends do," Messenger said, laughing off the incident.
Uh huh. Marlins are back in third, btw, courtesy Philly's loss last night to Atlanta. Game and a half behind the suddenly hot and not so worthy of my pity Braves, and the two teams meet tonight :O Depending on how this series goes (and the next, obviously), I might get to see them win #50 in Philly. That would be kinda nifty.

Curious and curiouser.

You know, looking back? I stopped watching last season at exactly the end of Vala's run of episodes early in the year. So I suppose Claudia did do her part in making me interested again ^_~ But you're right, there's just always other stuff on Friday. And downloading a show is just too much effort for anything you don't LOVE. SG-1 also made the mistake with me of always taking its dumb ass hiatus right when baseball season was about over, so just when I'm ready to watch the show, it's in repeats. Booo.
awww joe's his surrogate daddy
lol, I know! For all of them, looks like.

And LOL, his mom was watching the Cubs game while he was playing! :-D Cubs fandom is so powerful it can trump even family loyalties, I guess.

And hey, they should be due on a human interest piece on Hanley any day now. :3
LOL it's funny you mention Will Smith, as I just had a dream with him in it last night. Weeeeird.

LOL, right? How do Amezaga and JJ get write-ups before the star prospect?
I just had a dream with him in it last night.

I about died reading that article. Scotty won't listen to Mommy, Joe, or the Marlins as a whole. I sense a time out coming on..

I hope you enjoy it! It's pretty incredible how the writers of the show have kinda hit the reset button and switched everything up. I do think people could come on at this point, and while their experience would be a little different since they don't have the background of the previous two seasons, I think they could like the show just as much as people who have been watching for a while ^_^
