First things first: while you were sleeping. I'm really proud of them! They're currently getting slaughtered by the Red Sox, lol, but still, I'm proud of them.

Neither Best Buy nor Circuit City were carrying the MLB Bloopers dvd in store...but Wal-Mart has it for $9.44. So. Yeah. In the alternative, you can order it for $12 off DDD. Much of this is compiled from Maximum MLB and other MLB productions like that mic'd special they did - I recognized lots of different bits. Still worth the money ^_~ A couple of my favorite bits:

- Huddy punks Eddie Perez. And as of today, my favorite thing about Huddy is the way he gets all breathy and girly sounding when he laughs really hard. Other notable thing: the streamlined room check-in procedure the Braves use at team hotels. Innnteresting. Also, I would be really pleased if this put an end to people describing team hotels in fic as if they were $30 motels.
- the Bruce Chen classic I Live For This segment. It's really a shame Bruce has struggled this year, cause I really like him.
- Chavvy recounts running over a squirrel. This isn't really funny, at all, but Chavvy looks sharp, and I'm shallow that way.
- A few seconds of the Astros bullpen as 12 year old girls who cut each other's hair. This only endears Brad Lidge to me even more, because you know me and my hair cutting kink.

[Bad username or site: offspeed / @ livejournal.com], [Bad username or site: catslash / @ livejournal.com]: if you haven't heard it, Nate Robertson on MLB radio a couple days ago.

Nick Swisher on MLB Radio Friday. Nick Swisher seems to have been on MLB Radio just about once a week this season. Just talking about the extra inning game and striking out 5 times.

Squeee! Before Sunrise/Sunset mini-mix! The France win over BrazilThis has totally made my day! .:hugs:. Thank you thank you thank you!

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

**laughs** My dad was so freakin' happy France beat Brazil and he doesn't even know anything about soccer. I'm just happy you're both happy :P

You're quite welcome for the mix! I ended up focusing more on Before Sunset, feeling wise, but I really had fun putting the mix together, and I think I might be inclined to put together a full length playlist for the two films, for my next road trip. You should put one together too! You wouldn't have to upload the songs or anything, but I'd be interested to know what music Celine and Jesse bring to mind for you.

I've been working on a general France-related playlist for when I head over there at the end of the month (so far it's basically the Amelie soundtrack), but I'd love to do a Before Sunrise/Sunset one, now that I think about it. I'll get back to you when I finish it!

eee thanks for the astros clip! the bullpen boys are still cute, no matter how much they may be sucking right now.

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

You're welcome! There isn't much with the Astros unfortunately - there's the business with Morgan musing about what to pack on roadtrips, a clip with Lane forgetting how many outs there were in an inning, and there's another soundbite from Lidge during warmups complaining that he'd been called 'geek' so many times that day he might as well go in the clubhouse and hang himself ^_~

Psh. I paid 14 on Amazon, but I didn't want to go looking for it, & it was worth the extra bucks. It's only a shame they couldn't have made it a few weeks later, so Miggy's single off an intentional ball could have made the cut. Ah well, there's always the next DVD..

I think that part with Tim was my favorite. I about died laughing when he jumped out.

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

Yeah, when you factor in gas and the fact that I had to go out in the SWELTERING HEAT, an extra $4 isn't all that bad :P

The thing that killed me about Tim is he was so excited about the whole prank. Such a dork XD

"Steve Kline knows what he's saying!" I don't even know why that's funny, but hell if that isn't cracking me up all over again. This will be the first MLB anything to make it into my "frown fixers" folder.

"Beliiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve eht, I live for this!" What the hell is that? LOL, Chen is such a block head (figuratively and literally - seriously he and Firth should duel like Rams for crazy big dome supremacy).

Kudos on your mixes. Ain't know way in hell I would have the patience to do that shit. Would just pick random Cardigans songs and say to hell with it.

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

lol, really? None of the various clips of guys taking balls off the face or writhing in pain have made it so far? :P

Bruce cracks my shit up. I'm glad MLB put him on the dvd to spread the love. There's another thing on the dvd with Chen, among the extras. I haven't watched it yet, but I can grab it for you.

You know, I started to do this thing where I pulled out one or two lines from each song to illustrate why I had picked it for the mix, but after a couple I realized I didn't have the energy for all that, lol.

If you watch it and think I will enjoy it, then yes please. If it's about Chen the player, then blah - but if it's about Chen the dork? Definitely.

I took the Portishead and the related Tricky song. Thanks.

One list reminds me, did you ever get my birthday card?

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

You're welcome!

I'm afraid I haven't :( I imagine it got waylaid, but I appreciate the thought! Your way belated postcard should have gone out with the last batch I mailed last week but that I misplaced your address. But I found it again, so it's all good :P

From: [identity profile] trailer-spot.livejournal.com

Since it's a bit more than three weeks now since I sent it I'm also afraid it got lost. :(

But maybe it's on a slow boat.

I've got to get some of those MLB DVDs!

Thanks much for the playlists! Enjoyed every single one in mine, especially Brown Eyes. It fits perfectly with this tortured soul image I have of Bayliss.

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

They're rather fun; they just always seem much too short, considering the wealth of material MLB has access to.

It fits perfectly with this tortured soul image I have of Bayliss.

I'm glad you think so! Brown Eyes was the first song that came to me for the mix, and I built the rest of the mix around it ^_^

Btw, I've friended you, because I could use a fresh voice on my f-list. Please don't feel at all obligated to friend back, especially since I use my f-list mostly as a way to keep track of journals I'm reading, so I friend and defriend kind of a lot.

From: [identity profile] aurealis.livejournal.com

Thanks for friending me! As you’ll see, I don’t post a whole lot. I tend to do a lot of writing that I keep private, like in an old-fashioned diary, :-) and when I do post it’s mostly sort of inconsequential stuff. I spend more time hanging out at other people’s LJ’s that at my own. :-P.

I’m friending you back if you don’t mind.

Eep! I missed this with being away all weekend. Thank you so much! I love ACSS, but the others are new to me. What made you choose these songs for Diana?

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

I've never read any of the WW solo titles - my idea of Diana is very colored by how she's been depicted in JLA collections like Kingdom Come, Tower of Babel, and Divided We Fall, as well as in the DC animated JL and JLU series. Diana seems to run the spectrum in terms of characterization; she can be unpredictable (especially on the animated series, I think). There are times I look at her and I know what Aquaman meant when she called her a boring Pollyanna, but there are other times she's seemed downright cold and unfeeling, without any understanding\tolerance of other people's frailty. I picked the songs because in terms of feel, they represent that gamut for me ^_^

From: [identity profile] sadbhyl.livejournal.com

Yeah, I like her representation on JL/JLU. It's probably the closest blend of the elements of her character. Tough and able to make critical decisions, but still feminine and compassionate. And I'm a sucker for her and Bats...
