Spidey 3 teaser trailer! It will be shown before Superman Returns, so you may want to wait, and get the full effect. I couldn't, but you should know, it's AWESOME.
This story is very interesting to me - Myers granted leave of absence. I know the Phillies have been seriously taken to task on Mike & Mike over their response (or lack thereof) to the Myers situation, but I hadn't heard or read much about it elsewhere. If they have been taking a bunch of flack over this nationally, I'm really glad. I did hear that Brett Myers beat out Ozzie for today's Just Shut Up award, for letting "I'm sorry it got public" be all he had to say about the matter, and I'm glad he's going away from a while. Can one learn to stop being an abusive fucktard in the span of two weeks?
And now that I'm thinking about it, whatever happened with the accusations against Dmitri Young? I remember seeing something about him going into rehab or some such thing. (I suppose I could stop being a lazy cow and google it.)
How did you become a baseball fan? I followed it vaguely in 1996 and 1997; the Orioles were playing well and my dad and my bro were fans. Like much about me, I became a fan in a very backward way. While I'd watched a few games here and there, I didn't really get into baseball at all until the offseason of 1997. The bruhaha between Peter Angelos and Davey Johnson was SUCH a topic of discussion, and I was nothing short of fascinated by the politics of the situation. I was really curious to see how things would work out for Angelos, sending Johnson off after this impressive run, without so much as a by your leave. I've followed baseball fairly religiously since then.
How long have you been a baseball fan? I wasn't really a fan in 1996 or '97, just one of those people who didn't care if it was on in the background. I'd say starting with the 1998 season.
What's your favorite team? The Florida Marlins.
Least favorite baseball team? The Baltimore Orioles.
Favorite players?
Boston Red Sox: Ortizzle, now. I went to school in New England, so I was pretty into the Red Sox for a while (1999-2003 I was in undergrad, and I was sweet on the Sox until they won the World Series and it stopped being fun for me :P)
New York Yankees: Jorge Posada. And I'm still sweet on Moose, though I'm nowhere near as invested in him as I used to be.
Tampa Bay Devil Rays: I don't really have one. Um. lol, I can't think of a single person on that team I care about. I'm stealing Leanne's answer and going with BJ Upton.
Toronto Blue Jays: I don't have one for this team either.
Baltimore Orioles: Melvin Mora.
Detroit Tigers: Brandon Inge, I suppose.
Chicago White Sox: Scotty Poddy, if I have to pick one.
Minnesota Twins: Michael Cuddyer. And Torii Hunter.
Cleveland Indians: Does Garko count? Fine, Broussard.
Kansas City Royals: Reggie Sanders.
Texas Rangers: Gary Matthews, Jr. and Jerry Hairston, Jr.
Oakland Athletics: Danny Haren, Eric Chavez, Nick Swisher, and Mark Kotsay.
Seattle Mariners: Richie Sexson? lol, anyone but Carl Everett.
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim: Hmm. I don't really know from the Angels, really.
New York Mets: Jose Reyes and Cliff Floyd.
Atlanta Braves: Huddy! and Brian McCann.
Washington Nationals: Ryan Zimmerman.
Florida Marlins: Dan Uggla, Hanley Ramirez, Josh Willingham, and Mike Jacobs.
Philadelphia Phillies: Jimmy Rollins.
St. Louis Cardinals: Mark Mulder (lol, did I just say that?). I'd say Larry Bigbie but he's played like two minutes.
Cincinnati Reds: Bronson Arroyo.
Milwaukee Brewers: None.
Pittsburgh Pirates: None.
Houston Astros: Roy O and Brad Lidge.
Chicago Cubs: Michael Barrett, for sure. And Jacque Jones, actually.
San Francisco Giants: I got noooobody.
Los Angeles Dodgers: Nope.
Colorado Rockies: Kaz :(
Arizona Diamondbacks: Eric Byrnes.
San Diego Padres: Dave Roberts!
Any baseball players you dislike? CARL EVERETT. AJ Polish bugs. I dislike Miguel Tejada, as it turns out. Also, Brett Myers now, on principle. I don't really like Pudge Rodriguez. And I don't like Carlos Martinez. I'm also not terribly keen on Jay Payton, to be honest. lol, I could go on with this one.
Ever meet a baseball player? "Meet" like how? I mean, I've done the fanfest thing, and the grabbing autographs during warmups thing, but not like, in a club getting tipsy and shit.
Favorite Baseball Movies: 61* is my absolute favorite, runners up would be Major League, Major League III, and For Love Of The Game. I'm a heretic, I know.
MLB/minor league stadiums I've visited: Camden Yards, Citizens Bank, Fenway Park, RFK and Yankee Stadium. I've been to The Diamond, where the Richmond Braves play. I was supposed to see the PawSox at McCoy in undergrad, but the game was rained out. :'(
Favorite baseball announcers: I adore the Marlins announcers to no end. They're just so much fun. Sometimes when a team isn't playing well, you can tell how hard it is on the announcers, but the Marlins announcers always acknowledged the negatives but looked for the positives, and kept their chin up, and tried to have fun. I respect that so much. Also, scorn me all you want, I like Joe Buck. And the Orioles used to have a play-by-play guy named Michael Reghi (sp?). I really liked him, and I miss him.

For those who make productive use of such information, pics from the A's wives/sig others game feature a young woman in Bobby's jersey. So there, I suppose, is likely your answer why Rich ended up living with Huston again this year, after all ^_~ I'm on board with those who suspect Rich and Bobby had plans to live together, but those fell through early in the season. Poor Rich; the kid can't get any kind of break, on the field or off.
