So The Office - US season finale. Was awesome. I really never ever expected Jim/Pam to come close to touching Tim/Dawn, but I have to give so much credit to the show's writers (btw, Steve wrote last night's ep! <3) and to Jenna and John. You can watch the key moment(s) from the end of last night's finale here, which pleases me as I can't find a torrent yet. I think what absolutely killed me dead was the tear. It should have been so cheesy. It should have made me roll my eyes and bemoan that they ever thought they could come up with the perfect way to play this scene, instead of doing it silent and letting viewers fill in the blanks like the UK version did. Instead, they did what they've done all along - draw inspiration from the original series, while making moments their own. I wish, as ever, the creative team behind this adaptation had been the ones to take on the US version of Coupling. I have no doubt they could have pulled it off. "I think I am" what? In love with Jim? Still gonna go through with the wedding? **laughs** It's gonna be a long summer.

And I never would have expected it, but I'm actually getting into Jan/Michael. And I adore Dwight/Angela. Wth.

John was on Leno a couple nights ago, and completely hilarious - some kind soul uploaded it to one of the Office comms, if you missed it.

Susan Slusser is on Cold Pizza. She doesn't look anything like I imagined! She says Rich Harden is probably still another three weeks away. But take that for what it's worth, since she also just said Chavvy's been out with food poisoning, and I thought the latest word from the A's was that he's got some kind of bacterial infection. Also, if you're around a tv, Nick Swisher will be on later. (Thanks for the heads up, [Bad username or site: johnnybvo / @ livejournal.com]!)

Where's Dana? Who is this Josh Elliot guy? He's kinda awesomely awful. He laughed through the Hideki Matsui tease! Who does that?

She looks like someone's cool mom. You know, the one who lets the kid sneak a cookie even though Dad says no dessert until dinner's finished. I was actually expecting an Erin Andrews type. :P

Um, what? He laughed? Was he laughing about Hideki? Because while my love for those guys in pinstripes is virtually nonexistent, that's not cool. Geez.

That's right. The first version of the MLB article (as of yesterday afternoon) said food poisoning, but last night it'd been rewritten to say bacterial infection. Chavez down with bacterial infection (http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060511&content_id=1448653&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb)

Well, to be fair, no, I don't think he wasn't laughing about or at Matsui. I think this was his first day? Or it seemed like it (through out the show he kept saying "I can't believe I'm actually sitting here doing X" or "You have no idea how long I've waited to say Y"), and he was slow out of the gate going into the teaser, and I think he was laughing at himself for missing his cue. At least that's how it seemed.

That makes more sense. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. :-)

It amazes me how funny the Brit version of Coupling was, and yet how painfully bad the US version was -- despite having the exact same script.

It's like magic or something.

It was awesome, wasn't it? I was amazed at how they gave everyone something to do save poor Stanley and his one line (I'm calling the NAACP!).

Fact - Philis is the most adorable person on tv right now. She's all proud of her husband, and genuine, and sweet, and all that sugary shit.

I'm surprised they had Jim and Pam touch this soon. Makes me wonder how they are going to spin out of this. If they get together that takes away a big dynamic of the show and if they grow distant that's another huge dynamic gone. Would TPTB make them have an affair? And didn't you think Jim was going to hook up with Jan?

I know the fangirl icon makers will come out in full force to make icons of "the tear" and "the kiss". But dude, I shall not rest until I find an animated icon of Dwight trying to move his bobble head with his mind. So fucking funny.

Oh and Tobey getting whored up? Fantastic! "I hate...so much about the things that you choose to be." And then getting a little revenge? Fantasticer. And Cred being a klepto, and the Afghan exchange, and alwaystoolatewingman!Dwight, and Dwight being so pleased at the unexpected kiss from Michael, and Philis winning her hand at poker, and Cred never having owned a fridge, and Micheal making a bigger deal out of his love triangle than needed (even though it turned out to be a big deal), and the play off of Michael's line of "Who saw the hero getting the girl? I did" and the next scene being Jim and Pam swapping spit (clever clever), and Pam in a dress looking all purdy doing that girly flirt thing of scrunching up her shoulders, and....I'm going to watch this ep (along with the previous 4-5) like 78 time over the summer.

Scrubs totally got pwned for fav sitcom this season something terrible. Even though I only watch The Office and Scrubs, Scrubs has to be ranked like 8th in this list with The Office taking up the first seven spots of awesome all by itself. Plus Scrubs kinda sucked this season.

He laughed through the Hideki Matsui tease! Who does that?

::Tom Packard "This Guy!" thumb pointy motion::.

But it's firmly established that I'm a sick bastard.

Kinda fucked up my italics there. I can write basic programs, but I can't keep this shit straight? So lame.

...and Michaels ebonics, and "Two Queens on casino night, I'm gonna drop a deuce on everybody.", and Jim coughing to win, and...

It's okay there was no Stanley, because we got Darrell and "things us Negroes say" :P

The thing about Creed having never owned a refrigerator was hilarious to me, and I'm not entirely sure why.

There are already icons of The Kiss :P

I missed the beginning :( Which was the other reason I was waiting on the torrent.

and Jim coughing to win, and...

LOL, Jim coughing to win was great. "It's the strangest thing. Every time I cough, Dwight folds." LOL.

Food poisoning is what they've been saying on the radio about Chavez... Though, it does seem like an awfully long time to be out with food poisoning, so maybe that isn't the case anymore?

Interesting...I saw Slusser and Swisher on a local show out here together last weekend. Apparently they're just doing the rounds...

On Cold Pizza today, Swish said it was something that had been going around the clubhouse, and that a few of the guys had gone down with it. Who knows.
