Talked with [Bad username or site: catslash / @ livejournal.com] about PoTC II last night, and she's kinda swayed me on it a bit. But just a little. ( somewhat spoilery ramblings )
Capuano's going to the ASG after all; this pleases me. Glavine, having been before, didn't want to take up a spot knowing he wouldn't be available to pitch since he started today. He'll still go to the events and he'll still be announced, but he won't play. I'm sorry, [Bad username or site: phantom_hpuff / @ livejournal.com], but that's class.
Interesting piece on the only female ump in baseball (here). I had no idea!
Saw Superman Returns again, because [Bad username or site: johnnybvo / @ livejournal.com] hadn't seen it yet. Even now, having seen the part I slept through last week, Luthor's mad plan seems ridiculous and makes this movie the flip of the Spiderman films for me. In the Spiderman films, I always roll my eyes when Mary Jane shows up, and we get taken away from the adventures of Spidey and the Big Bad. But in Superman Returns, I enjoy the Superman/Lois/Richard stuff immensely, and the relationship stuff was by far more interesting to me than whatever was happening whenever Lex was on the screen.
A bit of drama with my fish today. Scotty right in the middle of it again :/ I've only seen clips, but apparently Miggy muffed a ball and then took his time going after it, which led to the Mets scoring and another runner reaching second. When the half inning was over, Olsen said something to Miggy about it and words were exchanged. Miggy wagged a finger in Olsen's direction, touching Olsen upside his head, so Scott tried to take a swing at him as the guys separated them :O I...think the break will do everyone some good.
Okay, so I keep talking to people about that news from yesterday that I keep telling myself I don't want to talk about, and I don't know, I wish I hadn't heard right before the A's were coming to town, is all. But then there's Dan Haren, totally oversharing in each and every blog entry (on the topic of his fiancee and their wedding plans: It takes a lot of her time and, consequently, a lot of my time. She’s always asking for my opinion about things, then I try to give a quick answer and change the subject, then she gets frustrated....), and I think it might be okay, he's been trained well, lol.
