OMG, cannot focus on tasks at hand. This is so bad. On so many levels, as the man once said.

+ Thanks to a head's up from [Bad username or site: diesolitairedie / @ livejournal.com], I got to see Rosie's appearance on Leno (download available here). I'll be glad when he turns the show over to Conan, because I think Conan's interviews tend to be more random and entertaining, but Rosie laughed a ton, and it was a sight to see ^_^ They also showed a clip of Light My Candle, and... no comment really. But Rosie was cute.

+ I imagine I was the LAST PERSON ON EARTH to see this, and I blame all of you. [Bad username or site: natural_center / @ livejournal.com] links to a short news story on Zito's creative endeavors, and kindly shares some caps. As recently as 3 or 4 months ago, I was still rolling my eyes at people constantly fangirling the Oakland A's, because sure, they're okay, but honestly, they're not all that, they're just skinny, college looking white boys, and now, I can't see a picture of fuckme-haired Barry Zito without thinking how eminently shaggable he is. Thanks for nothing, C_B.

(I still find something about Huston Street rather off-putting though. I realize it seems to be just me. But seriously, there's something very "I want to be a real boy" about him. He's just so...doll-like. I guess because he seems so impossibly young to be playing pro-ball. Weirds me out.)

Anyway.

I was, for reasons no one ought concern themselves with, trolling the AP Photo archive for images of one Constantino Martinez, when I came across some stuff from when he was with the Cards. I'd never seen this image before, and oh man, what a heartbreaker:

+ As it turns out, my MLB.TV account did not expire on October 31st. Which, in all honesty, is the last thing I needed to know. **face-palms** I'm all too readily distracted as is :-/

+ Oh, and 20 years later, I remember that Matt Lawton went and failed himself a banned substances test. I laughed about him being the first Yankee to get nailed and then I was annoyed when I realized he and Jamal Strong are the first brothers (I've heard of) to get nailed. THANKS, GUYS. **tears up scorecard** (And what in the world is going on in the Mariners organization? Did they even tell their players about the new steroid testing policy? :-P)

+ AND EXCUSE ME WHILE I MURDER THAT THING CRAWLING ON MY WALL. I've killed something like 5 or 6 centipedes in the past week. I really try not to kill things, I'm very much one of those who will, more often than not, just grab a sheet of paper and scoop the offending creature up and out of my living space, but centipedes CREEP ME THE FUCK OUT. I'll be sitting the common room, minding my own business, when I see movement on the far wall or out of the corner of my eye. Ugh. Hate. And they're so long here! And they have all those legs and just. **shudders**

Barry Zito is about twelve steps beyond adorable. I always feel so cliche when I fangirl him because EVERYONE loves him, but I just can't help myself. Between the messy hair and the photography, it's too much for me to resist. Oh, and thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that clip either.

I'm not sure which is sadder: the fact that Darryl Kile's kid is there for the national anthem (and looking so small and innocent and wah) or the fact that his name is KANNON.

I really liked Matt Lawton when he played with the Indians. But now he plays for the Yankees. So screw 'im.

Centipedes terrify me. TERRIFY ME. I can handle spiders, bees, ants... pretty much every other icky crawly thing. But centipedes? *shudder*

Oh man, love the icon! Way to manufacture an M/Z pic. Now Imma prolly have to go back to the Zito galleries and find some pictures to do likewise. Which is a dangerous thing 'cos I've managed to hold back on the fangirling Zito so far. I mean, I'd do anything to open him up and see what makes him tick. And of course I *would* shag him (sad that that goes without saying, but hello? ballplayer.), but it's not like I get hot for pictures of him.

Oh yeah, I thought my DVD came but it was actually the books I bought. So, I am now the proud owner of Aces on the Mound. Now I just have to decide when to break it open. I didn't want to over lunch 'cos I didn't want to feel hurried while reading it, lol. I wanna wait until I can like, plan my day around the book.

Speaking of books, and Darryl Kile, I've been wanting to reread Three Nights in August (have you read it? you need to!); there's a chapter in there about Kile and the team after he died and... damn. Tearjerker stuff. Anyway, the book's not just about the Cardinals, its a good baseball book too. But yes, I am secretly hoping that you'll pick up a little love for my boys while reading it. ...Damn, I suck at keeping secrets.

So I really did try to change my journal. But I just cant. This new theme is freeking me out. So I think I'm going back to my old faithful. And I want a new mood theme....I have the things downloaded (for a shiny new Grey's Anatomy one...), but I cant remember how to set it up. Refresher course? Are you going to dinner with BLSA? Wow...I miss you when you arent around...lol. OOO and I like the Tom McCrey and the Postal Service. Sooo emo. Oh and I broke down and paid for eljay again..damn it all.
