I hate packing to head back to school. I just can't bring myself to stay at it for too long because it's just so mindnumbingly tedious. It would probably feel a lot more urgent if I didn't have a car with me in Williamsburg. But I do, so my basic attitude comes down to, "eh, if I forget something in my mad rush out of here tomorrow, I'll just buy it in Williamsburg."

I'm such a bad DCFC fan! I had no idea they had a new album right around the corner. US release is August 30th. I only smartened up after [Bad username or site: jchalo / @ livejournal.com] posted Brothers On A Hotel Bed as part of a meme she recently did, and Liz mentioned that there was a new album coming out when we were talking after dinner yesterday. I love the track - instant new favorite - despite the use of the phrase "on accident" which I hate almost as much as the phrase "standing on line". I anticipate it will be played at least 18 times on my drive back to school tomorrow.

BTW, the fall tour schedule is out. [Bad username or site: mypetorchid / @ livejournal.com], we should talk about seeing them at the 9:30 club on Oct 23rd (you too, Liz!). I'd love to go, I can tape the World Series game that night :-P Of course they're gonna be in Providence (curse my not discovering them until senior year!). And Cyn, if you're a fan, they're also doing a show in early Oct at your alma mater.

My mom brought home this week's TV Guide. Gee, guys - thanks for the HUGE FUCK OFF BSG SPOILER PIC on the inside cover. **stabs layout people** That's not buddies :(

ETA: Did you hear about this Nats fan demanding playoff tickets, season tickets for '06 and $18,000 before he returns the glove Livan flung into the stands after a bad inning the other night? That's kinda jackholish. I could see him making a bid for playoff tickets but that other stuff is a bit much for a freaking glove. I know anything that goes into the stands belongs to the fans, but there's no reason to get all extortion happy. Stop being on my side, guy. You're making my side look like a bunch of assholes.

I've come to the party *very* late (and still kind of resisting), but I'm hoping she'll have been so popular they'll bring her back. She has such a wonderful energy that I haven't seen in a lot of the eps I've watched.

Man, they have to bring her back - or they're gonna have some pretty unhappy fans on their hands :-P Vala first showed up last season, and they like CB well enough to bring her back to start off this season...I'm almost positive we'll see her again before the season is out. You're right, Claudia did bring a great new energy that the show's been missing, and with the nature of the alien threat this season, we'll probably need her to show up and give us a breather!

I saw like half of death cabs set at Lollapalooza. We left a little early from them because they played last and I was the only one who actually liked their music (and one of the people I was with kept giving me these really passive agressive comments about going home). But I love them and can't wait for the new album. Transatlantiscm is my favorite up to this point, I *think* my favorite song by them is Tiny Vessels but I've played it to death so I'm not sure anymore. :)

Wow, have we talked about this? Tiny Vessels is absolutely my favorite Death Cab song as well ^_^ I think my favorite overall album would have to be We Have The Facts And We're Voting Yes; mostly for sentimental reasons - Title Track was the first DCFC song I ever fell in love with :-P

The first deathcab song I fell in love with was photobooth, which was off the forbidden love lp I think. They were really good live and I at least got to listen through Title and Registration, which is another song by them I absolutely love. I'm still a little bit miffed that we left early, but in the end I think it was the best for the whole party! I can't believe I didn't know you loved deathcab too!

I read about that and I couldn't believe what a douchebag that guy was. I'm glad Livan told him to stuff it. Now all he gets is a used glove. $18,000 - for a fucking glove? They must be selling some strong skunk in DC.

Have you finished TLW season 2 yet? If you have, you so need to tell me what you think (e-mail is good). Apparently the season 3 promos showed up last week on showtime, and I found a site that has them up, but since I'm at work, I can't check it out. If you want, I'll e-mail you the link later on.

Good luck getting back to school safely. To paraphrase Bridget Jones, packing always takes exactly how much time you leave to do it, so don't stress, and get it all done 2 hours before departure.

I haven't :( I had some trouble playing ep 2x10 (I had scratched the disc a bit) and I couldn't get 2x11 to play either. I didn't want to skip TWO eps, so I'm gonna download them when I get back to campus.

Anyway, I could not more obviously be down for the death cab show--except it's OSU's family weekend, when i was thinking abt. visiting my sis at school and potentially some other midwest universities...i don't really know how the visiting grad schools thing works, though...i will make up my mind right quick though b/c i'm sure the tickets will sell out superfast--although the show's not listed on either ticketbastard or 930.com yet (also btw it's the 23rd, not the 22nd--sunday, that is--so i don't know if that will affect your ability/desire to attend.

Yay for it being on Sunday! I hope you can make the show, but I totally understand going to make sure your sis has settled in okay. I will pray for you and cross my fingers :-P
