Dude, it's not just you, the site is pretty ridiculous. I mean, I realize it's a free service, but damn.
My original instructions above added an unnecessary step and were missing a step, so here's how it actually works, such as I can tell.
1. Click your upfile link. 2. Scroll past the first bunch of ads, and then click on some part of the text that says This is your link to file ,Unlimited speed for all. It's under the annoying flashing ad in the middle of the page. As far as I can tell, it doesn't really matter where you click in this sentence, just click somewhere. 3. A download link will finally appear towards the bottom of the page of ads. Click the download link appearing under the big red Step 2 text. 4. This takes you to a full page ad for something or another. At the top of the page of ads will be a 60 second countdown, and then you'll finally get something that says click here to start download. That's the honest to God link that will start your download.
