Please keep in mind that those first reviews for DVC come from the critics at Cannes, France the most important film festival (artistically) in the world. I can't think of a tougher crowd for a mega-blockbuster from the Howard/Grazer movie making factory who was made for a (US) mainstream audience.
But don't get me wrong, it really seems to have its flaws, not at least the length of two and a half hours and the dialogue. I was on he fence and what I read so far didn't improve the chances that I will watch it. A friend (who rarely goes to the theatre) showed some interest. If the 2 1/2 hours don't discourage him, I'll go with him.
