That was, quite possibly the lamest bottom-of-the-ninth-comeback-rally-walkoff celebration I've ever seen. God, even in winning, they irritate me. And I kinda feel bad for the Royals :( But they just swept Cleveland, so I don't feel too bad for them. And I'm kind of glad for Kevin Millar, who always seems to be grounding into double plays when I turn to the O's game. ([Bad username or site: rickenbacker / @ livejournal.com], I taped this game for your friend, if you want it. I don't know how many DVD-Rs you were planning to use on her?)
The Marlins took their second series of the season with a win today over the Pirates. They could have swept, if they knew how to hang onto a five run lead, but one thing at a time. First they crack double-digits in wins, then they take a second series, next...not blowing five run leads. Hope springs eternal. I personally credit the success of the adopt-a-Marlin program. There are still some good ones available (like Chris Aguila! And Josh Johnson! And Hanley Ramirez!); lemme know if you're interested ^_~ (Actually, I'm putting a temporary hold on Hanley Ramirez. Because [Bad username or site: avaio / @ livejournal.com] was first in time where Mikey the J is concerned; I suppose I should check and see if she's okay with me claiming him and all ^_~ If she doesn't want to share, I call dibs on Hanley!)
Danny and the A's avoided the sweep in New York, thank the Lord. The game ended on a hilariously "bzuh?" kind of note, which amused me, but Danny got the complete game victory, and I saw that he updated yesterday and his mom makes great Mexican and he mailed his card too late and I am, to paraphrase Ang, full of tiny hearts where Dan Haren is concerned. His comments about Noah reminded me that Beck randomly wrote something about them that I should go back and re-read. I still have no Haren icon!
Baseball-wise, this day could have been better only if the Cubs had bounced back from yesterday with a win, but alas. I really cannot afford to get all invested in the Cubbies, I AM ALL STOCKED UP ON LOVABLE LOSERS RIGHT NOW. But they keep **sad face**ing me! They're very hard to resist.
...Er?

eta: Btw, a heads up to people who tape Prison Break and 24: in the event you haven't heard, POTUS is speaking tomorrow at 8pm, so Prison Break is slotted to begin at 8:20pm EST, and 24 at 9:20pm EST.
