btw

Fiiiiinally watched The Happening. Dumb, and it does not have anywhere near the re-watchability quality of Sixth Sense, Signs, or The Village, but I think it was a slight improvement over The Lady In The Water. Unintentionally so, I imagine, but Mark Wahlberg is pretty hilarious in that movie. His delivery of one line especially ("What? No!") had us in stitches.

Also, four years later, I fiiiiinally got around to watching Wilby Wonderful. It wasn't bad, but I didn't love it as I wanted to. It's no Station Agent, as far as bittersweet comedies go. When the movie was over, mostly I sat there not being able to get over what a terrible person Sandra Oh's character is. As Wilt would say: I'm sorry, but that's not okay!

Oh my lord, The Happening was SO dumb. I saw it on a 5th date and I stopped seeing him off after that, and while I hate to think that the movie he chose had anything to do with it... it might have. The "science" in that movie just had me squirming.

**laughs** Poor guy. He picked it?

Yeah... and the next day he emailed me, "So I guess The Happening wasn't so... happening." Ugh. Next!

I still haven't seen any of M Night Whatever's movies. I've seen about half of Sixth Sense and that's it. I'm still not sure if I should get on that or not. I won't start with the Happening, though.

Good plan ;) I think if you weren't emotionally into The Sixth Sense enough to finish it, it's likely M. Night's story-telling style doesn't do anything for you, so you probably wouldn't like any of his other movies.

yep, marky mark turned the happening into a comedy.

When we were watching, I thought I remembered you saying that you thought the movie was funny, and I was amused that you were so on point.

Aw, really? I mostly felt sorry for her and was mad at Paul Gross' character. Heh.

**laughs** Yeah, between the cheating, and popping introspective questions on your wife 5 minutes before guests arrive, and then abandoning said guests, he wasn't exactly a prize. But she cuts Dan down, and just shoves him in that stairwell storage closet thing! I felt sorry for her...until that moment. Then my jaw just dropped and all the sympathy escaped me :P
