In "The Yankee Years," due to be released on Feb. 3, Torre ... says that his star player, Alex Rodriguez, was often referred to by his teammates as "A-Fraud" and was obsessed with his perceived rival, shortstop Derek Jeter. - In book, former Yankee manager Joe Torre takes aim.
**snorts** I don't even need to know what else the book says, at this point. That is hilarious, kids. Oh, Alex Emmanuel. I just don't even know, anymore. If it's all canon, you are more special than I ever believed.

I still love the story of Jeff Francoeur standing up to A-Rod.

A-Rod is like that kid in high school who tries to hard to be in the in-crowd.
God, yes. It cracks me up to think that he's really as desperate and sad as he's always seemed.
On the plus side, my A-Fraud shirt from '04 is suddenly relevant again! Thanks, Joe.

I had a friend just like A-Rod in high school as in she tried too hard and treated everybody she thought was beneath her like crap. Guess who was beneath her? *points to self* Yeah, and the funny thing is a huge reason why she wasn't accepted in the in-crowd was because they didn't like how she treated me (though I was never part of their group...never wanted to be). So I basically have pity for him, but I think he's a tool so fuck that. Kinda like how I felt about my friend.
