+ While I don't really want any of them for myself, I cannot stop looking at this batch of icons. I am so amused that Vin Diesel was like "I'm too sexy to make a stupid face in the MTV Photobooth like EVERYONE ELSE." Anyway, very cute, and some of the faces are hilarious. It's also kinda neat to see who could really let go and be a dork and who couldn't. Vin, you're a total D&D nerd, so you don't get to pretend you're too cool for the photobooth.

+ I have been spelling words wrong a lot lately. Or not spelling them wrong, exactly, but I write the wrong word more and more. Above, for example, I wrote "really like go". I remember yesterday I wanted to write "readiness" and I wrote "ready nest" Is there a term for that? It is distressing to me, my loves. I also find myself, increasingly, using the wrong form of the verb I want. I can feel my brain cells dying, one by one.

+ If anyone sees Ultraviolet (that's out this weekend, right?), I'd be interested to know if it's a good time.

+ It was also Photo Day for Houston says Getty. **shakes fist at yahoo** Mixed feelings about the batch, 'cause one hand: image of Roy! Image of Ausmus! Sans mask! Which, like. Oh my goodness. On the other hand, lol, there's this totally depressing vibe. I think you definitely want to go more for more 'badass', or 'whoo baseball is fun'. I think maybe the photographer was going for badass here, but I don't think he quite got it. I wanted to make everyone soup. Also, in keeping with obnoxious tradition, not everyone's been released yet. No Ensberg, no Everett. No Backe. My soul weeps.

+ D-Rays also posted, several days ago. Which means I finally know what BJ Upton looks like. Seeing Zimm with anything other than 'New York' across his chest is weird. And just because I love saying it: Rocco Baldelli! Pride of Rhode Island!. Now with lazy eye action. And in case Ang wants to cry some more: Travis Lee used to be an Indian, right?

+ All delayed-like, I have this vague memory of being tagged by two people for memes and not doing either. If I've got it right, [Bad username or site: lisabird / @ livejournal.com] tagged me for things that make me happy. [Bad username or site: phantom_hpuff / @ livejournal.com] tagged me for that garish yellow meme, I think. The yellow one was some kind of variant on the guilty pleasures meme, so I'm gonna say see supra. As for things that make me happy, I did that a few months back, and the list hasn't really changed. For 'Three Witches being back', lemme substitute 'spring training picspammage' :-P

+ Okay, a coffee run to DD, and then back to work on my appeal. Which makes me sad.

ETA: Whoa, Don Knotts died? I must confess - I had mostly a wait, he wasn't already dead? reaction. Whenever I think of Don Knotts, I think of his part in The Apple Dumpling Gang. That's, like, the definitive Don Knotts role for me. That's kinda weird, right? Of all the great parts he's had and is known for?

In other news, Chavvy can't play for Mexico. [Insert Nelson-style laugh here]

I remember yesterday I wanted to write "readiness" and I wrote "ready nest"

I've been doing the opposite of that for the longest time. If I want to write "with the" I'll end up writing "withe" since the words are sorta combined. So very annoying.

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

Heh, and kinda funny. Sorry :-P I guess it's all a function of my minds moving faster than our fingers?

I do that "typing/writing" the wrong word thing all the time, too. I especially do it with before/because. I don't know why, but I've been doing it since I was, like, 13 or so. Have you been more distracted when you're typing lately or something?

And no! Travis Lee was never an Indian. And was, in fact, Playing with the D-Rays last year (http://baseball-reference.com/l/leetr01.shtml). Although, you know, "Lee" is Travis Hafner's middle name, so I SOMETIMES GET CONFUSED TOO. :D

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

And no! Travis Lee was never an Indian

**laughs** Damn it! Well, nevermind then. Also, there shouldn't be so many Travises. I could have sworn you guys had another Travis in recent years, one who wasn't Hafner? I seem to recall some toodoo involving a Travis and some weird baserunning play in a game against the Yankees? (But, thinking about it, that was probably upwards of 3 or 4 years ago, and I think you said you'd only gotten back into baseball in the past year or so.)

Man, that's gonna bug me now.

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

Heh, well, my brain tends to be thinking about 80 things at the same time. So I wouldn't be surprised if distraction's been aggravating it. I feel like it's been happening more and more over the past year, and just gotten really bad in the past month or so. But then, my sleep schedule has been more irregular than it's ever been in my life, and I haven't been eating well for ages, so it's probably a function of the fact that I'm pretty much tired all the time.

I especially do it with before/because.

That's curious - both how long you've been doing it, and that it's a recurring thing with two words in particular.

If anyone sees Ultraviolet (that's out this weekend, right?), I'd be interested to know if it's a good time.

I'll see it, although perhaps not this weekend (see post about rodeo craziness). It's Kurt Wimmer, so it'll be super-pretty (even if it's dumb).

Image of Ausmus! Sans mask! Which, like. Oh my goodness.

Indeed! (Do you have that, and maybe a few of the others, without the watermark? 'Cause that would make me happy.)

Word. I'd go with soup and also hugs. *pets boys*

then back to work on my appeal. Which makes me sad.

Aww. *sends positive vibes for Myr's "positive vibes" jar*

From: [identity profile] kmousie.livejournal.com

Yeah, well...they get my positive vibes pretty much non-stop anyway. But now there's also this. To make myself feel better:

Dear stupid photographer,

You've got a group of amazing, photogenic badasses who are also pretty darn good at their job. Why do you have to make them look like someone just ran over their dogs?

No love,

Katie

Heh. Well, I'm going for Milla, pretty much, and for largely the same reasons :-P

Indeed! (Do you have that, and maybe a few of the others, without the watermark? 'Cause that would make me happy.)

The only place I've seen the photo day pics posted without a watermark is the Yahoo Gallery, and even then it's only been some that make it there. I'm hoping some of the Astros get added tomorrow, though so far when the pics have shown up, they've shown up the day taken :-/ I note the Royals photo day pics weren't added to the Yahoo gallery either.

Aww. *sends positive vibes for Myr's "positive vibes" jar*

Thanks ^_^

There's that...and the movie might not be dumb. Equilibrium wasn't dumb, so I've got hope. I wish I could get my LJ friends in one place...[livejournal.com profile] cats_n_crying wants to see Ultraviolet, and he said I'm the person he'd love to see it with. Would be so fun if the three of us could go!

We shall see...maybe we'll find them elsewhere. :-) I said I had hope!

Thanks ^_^

Any time. Also *snickers that you said "see supra in a post*

Pride of Rhode Island! w00ten!

As for Don Knotts, I know this sounds weird, but I kept thinking like when I was 80, he'd still be alive cranking out guest appearances after guest appearances on random shows

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

Damn skippy! :-P

Oh man, I don't think it sounds weird - I kinda know what you mean. I totally feel the same way about William Shatner. There are some people you just assume are gonna be around, like, forever.

Which means I finally know what BJ Upton looks like.

Like a bit of a douche, don't you think?

From: [identity profile] dwright5.livejournal.com

Only with ladies present. They'll be like, "Ohhhh B.J's so cool!" and I'll be like, "Okay, I'll be sure to tell Melvin you think that."

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

Aww. What's the matter, David? I thought you were secure in your studliness ^_~ And Melvin's a fine name! Just happens to be the name of my favorite (AL) third baseman (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6239) ^_^

From: [identity profile] dwright5.livejournal.com

No, I'm pretty sure it's a name given to tons of redneck farmers in Nebraska. No offense to them, but yeah.

Do you have any pics of your favorite NL third baseman?! :D

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

No, I think you're thinking of CORNELIUS :-P

Sadly, I'm at the library and all my pics of David Bell are on my laptop XD

Ultraviolet: You're a week early. I also hope that it'll be some fun, but I'm a bit sceptical. I'm looking forward to skim through a couple of reviews next week.

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

Ultraviolet: You're a week early.

Ooh, well that's cool. 'Cause then I can see it at home with my brother.

And after that I'll have four more weeks months to make up my mind anyway. *sigh*

Aww :-P Well, um. Anticipation is the spice of life. Okay, it's not. But you know, close enough :-P

Or not spelling them wrong, exactly, but I write the wrong word more and more.

I do that too. And have been doing it for quite awhile and it's not going away! First it only happened when I wrote in English. I made those idiotic mistakes of where/were and they're/their that I used to shake my head to when I saw other people doing them. But these days I often skip over words altogether. And make all kinds of spelling errors. Also I now write things wrong in Finnish too. *lol*

I try to blame it on reading law text day in and day out. ;) And think that the dialogue in my head goes too fast for my fingers to catch up. But my friend, who's a student in the faculty of education and studies psychology, says it's all because I'm stressed all the time and have no steady rhythm in my days. Her explanation might be more correct than mine. =P

From: [identity profile] ayrdaomei.livejournal.com

Yeah, that sounds about right :-P I really think it's because our brains are thinking about a gazillion things, and because we're so stressed and tired of being stressed, we're rarely able to really focus on what we're doing at the time.
