I've got $5 that says that just hours after being named NL Manager of the Year, Joe Girardi will 'resign' as manager of the Marlins, ala Davey Johnson when he decided Angelos could fuck himself, after 1997. Two weeks later, Joe will take the job with the Cubs. The Marlins will go on to have 8 straight losing seasons. I'VE FUCKING SEEN THIS MOVIE BEFORE.

Anyway.

Because the A's are keeping Z on regular rest and working everyone else around him, I'll get to see him pitch next Saturday. How neat is that? I'm sad I keep missing Dan, but I should get to also see Blanton and probably Windsor throw, so that'll be fun.

I was supposed to be in Philly today visiting one of my old roomies from Brown, but it fell through. Of course, there's little to be lamented when one has a tankful of gas and lives within 4 hours of 6 major league ballparks, so I'm back in Pittsburgh with my bro. We're doing the Cards at PIT tonight - it's Turn Back The Clock Night! A personal favorite. Tomorrow, there's a Dave Chappelle show we might go to. There are still reasonably priced tickets on ebay, so I think that's the plan. We'll see.
