U.S. Muslims under cloud: Thirty-nine percent of respondents to the USA TODAY/Gallup Poll...favored requiring Muslims, including U.S. citizens, to carry a special ID "as a means of preventing terrorist attacks in the United States."
Unbelievable. And those are just the people who had no problem expressing such an idea aloud.
Picked up a book called Jinxed at the library. It's a collection of the superstitions of certain ballplayers. Most of them aren't all that interesting but apparently Wade Boggs really did eat chicken every day of his playing career. Raul Mondesi had to step on every (presumably discarded?) cup in the dugout before he went up to bat. The other fun one was Roy Halladay's: At 6:15 on game nights, Halladay gets a 23.5 minute silent rubdown from the team trainer. He has to put on his sweatshirt before he exits the room, and when he hits his third step out of the door, the trainer is to tell him "Have a good one, Doc."
