From this fun EW cover story on the success of Fast & Furious:
  • While Diesel got his scrappy start growing up in Greenwich Village, Walker was raised in sunny Southern California, a surfer boy who landed easy work as a model and later got a gig on The Young and the Restless. "Vin and I, we're two completely different people. If I were any more like him or he was any more like me, there's no way in hell we would ever get along. But for some reason it works."
  • The question now, of course, is how Diesel and Walker will handle their newfound momentum. There's obviously no guarantee that either one of them can open a major movie once they leave their vehicles, but it almost doesn't matter. There's already a fifth Fast & Furious in the works[.]

But make sure you BRING BACK HAN. That is all.

I just won a game of Minesweeper for the first time I can remember!

(Don't laugh, I am very pleased with myself right now.)

(And this would have gone on Twitter, but I deleted my Twitter last week, so, your loss.)

How the Grinch Stole Christmas is on ABC.

That is all.
Except for maybe the first time I saw RENT.

Death Cab was AMAZING.

And, really, I don't know if it was just seeing the guys live for the first time, or the lights, or if being on tour actually suits Ben Gibbard or what, but he seems to have slimmed down some, and while Ben's never been handsome, he's got a pretty decent build right now. And his ass looked really good in those pants. And happily he spent most of the night rocking away in front of where we were standing.

I definitely thought to myself "I would so sleep with him" about 20 times during the show.

But that's just me being a girl, the more important thing for me to say is that if you ever get the chance to see Death Cab For Cutie play live and you're a fan? FUCKING GO. It's a way more high energy show than you'd expect and sooooooo worth it.

so can't remember the setlist, and I know I'm forgetting a bunch of songs but what I do remember hearing )

So awesome.

1.) I was so sure ESPN was gonna jinx by going to live coverage. Every time ESPN goes to live coverage of something, I think of Bartolo Colon throwing that no hitter against the Yankees and losing it one batter into ESPN's live coverage.

2.) But in retrospect, I am so thankful to ESPN for cutting back to Florida for the top of the 8th and 9th innings ^_~

3.) I am so irritated ESPN cut away during the celebration to go back to a Boston-White Sox game that is a complete BLOWOUT and that is already being televised on WGN. GO BACK TO FLORIDA.

4.) I walked all the way over to campus to post about this, because holy hannah, you guys. I love this team. That shot of them surrounding Anibal on the mound, a mass of pure joy. Man, if I get to see a Wild Card celebration after seeing that, it's just icing on the cake at this point.

I could not adore this team more. I stood by the window in my apartment and managed to get enough of a cellphone signal to call [Bad username or site: phantom_hpuff / @ livejournal.com] and squee. I am so happy for Anibal, so thrilled for every single one of them.

It was only supposed to roll out in mid-APRIL. It's not like I've been checking the Mosaic page 3 times a day, every day, since >.>

hu-freakin'-zzah )

And OT, but if anyone saw Something New on sale today for less than $19.99, do let me know.

eta: Okay, I already have a quibble with the Mosaic viewer. Is it me, or is there no way to rearrange what games are on which panels? It seems silly to me that I should have to scroll across three panels to see the six games that are currently in progress, as opposed to being able to shuffle the panel contents so that all the games that are currently in progress are on my screen at the same time. And what if more than six games are on, but there are only six I'm interested in following? I should be able to shuffle the games I want to follow onto the same panel. Right now, for example, FLA @ ATL, NYM @ STL, SF @ HOU are all situated on different panels. Well, wait. HOU and STL are on the same panel, yay, but I still have to panel away from the FLA game to check them. **takes notes**

Btw, [Bad username or site: johnnybvo / @ livejournal.com], your audio question - you hear the audio of whichever game you 'highlight'. For the others, you just see what's happening.

edit 2: Ah. Right then. But, 'not at this time' sounds optimistic. Sounds like they're working on it, yeah?

Deadwood may be done at HBO - If this does turn out to be the last hurrah, I'm honestly not too upset about it. I've seen too many of my old favorites limp off the air, or just found myself losing interest in characters I'd adored not too long before. I'd be okay with seeing Deadwood off after just three seasons, because if the third year is even half as good as the first two, it will be quality television from start to finish, and three solid, quality years is enough of a run for any show to be proud of.

Guess what? It turns out that Home Depot makes available a "major league baseball official fan guide" booklet, and it contains the schedules for all 30 clubs. How awesome is that? I've got almost all the individual club schedules (btw, [Bad username or site: __dtrain / @ livejournal.com], thanks for the Marlins!) on my wall, and now I have all the schedules in one neat pocket-sized booklet. Well done, Home Depot. Well done. My dad says he picked up this one for me at the beginning of the season, so I don't know if they have anymore, but if anyone wants me to check next time I have to run errands, I'm happy to.

Speaking of, got a call today from my friend Josh. He says "so, we talked about going to an O's-Nats game, right?" Um. I guess so. It sounds like something I would have said, but I don't know why people hold me to these things. So I guess I'm going to see the O's and Nats, which makes it unlikely I'll also see Andy's start, but such is life. I'd prefer to see the game at RFK, which is next weekend, so I told him I'd check the tickets situation and get back to him. If the prices look too crazy, I'm sure we can get tickets to the O's and Nats at OPCY in June or whenever.

eta:[Bad username or site: johnnybvo / @ livejournal.com], my dad just offered me tickets to the O's-Royals game tonight. I said I didn't feel like going ^_~

edit 2: Better late than never, Mychael: Call me crazy, but there isn't a better-looking man in baseball than Cardinals pitcher Mark Mulder. Alas, our female fans are out of luck. He's off the market. ... The marriage market, that is. Got engaged in the offseason.

Also, that whole piece was special.

I kicked this Disney Quiz's ASS )

Well, that makes up for getting called on in Civ Pro today. And yes. I'm impressed...with myself. No, no ego issues here. Why do you ask?

ETA: Okay, I didn't really kick its ass. Being the dork that I am, I asked for the answer key, cause I wanted to see how many I'd actually gotten right. I missed 3 of 14 questions, though I maintain that the answer to question 13 is arguable (I said two, thinking Aurora and Briar Rose. I hesitated over three but settled on two because she's never addressed as 'Sleeping Beauty' in the film. But apparently the correct answer is three. This is what I get for overthinking things.) Also, I think I neglected to check off Little Foot as a non-Disney character, but I can't remember for sure.
