~ The Mentalist and I seem to be drifting apart. I've missed the beginning of the last couple new episodes; I keep forgetting when the show is new. I didn't remember until 9:30 yesterday :X My dad dvrs it, so it's not a big deal, as we'll be staying there this weekend while the Cards are in DC, but still. I'm a little bummed that the bloom's off the rose already. I was very much looking forward to a new tv-based fandom. Maybe The Unusuals or Southland, if I ever actually get around to downloading some eps.

~ Probably premature, considering Huston just took a loss three appearances ago, but this is happymaking: Corpas' grip on Rockies' closer role is loosening. OH LOOK WHO GOT THE SAVE EARLIER TODAY: boxscore. **is pleased**

Also, shut up. (And they should still trade him.)

~ Also of the happymaking: Beck has uploaded Vegas & Gravitation as podfic.

~ Sean Penn has filed for legal separation from Robin == awww. That makes me sad. And also reminds me that I thought she looked an absolute vision at the Academy Awards this year. I always thought she was a bit miscast as Buttercup, because I've never found her stunningly beautiful, but she was that, in February.

In "The Yankee Years," due to be released on Feb. 3, Torre ... says that his star player, Alex Rodriguez, was often referred to by his teammates as "A-Fraud" and was obsessed with his perceived rival, shortstop Derek Jeter. - In book, former Yankee manager Joe Torre takes aim.

**snorts** I don't even need to know what else the book says, at this point. That is hilarious, kids. Oh, Alex Emmanuel. I just don't even know, anymore. If it's all canon, you are more special than I ever believed.
Crosby, the 2004 Rookie of the Year, was put on outright waivers this week but went unclaimed, several major-league executives confirmed Friday. The A's would have received nothing had another team taken Crosby and the $5.25 million he's owed in 2005, making it essentially a salary dump, but there were no takers. The A's don't discuss waiver activity.

"I don't understand it too much," Crosby said by phone Friday. "But I guess I don't have to. I'll know sooner or later what's going on, and if I'm somewhere else, OK, and if I stay, great. My opinion doesn't mean much. I'm just going to get ready to play."
- A's Notes

I presume that 2005 should read 2009. Let this be a lesson to you, kids. Don't win the Rookie of the Year in Oakland. It's all pretty much downhill from there.

I need an Island of Misfit Toys icon that is just filled with photoshopped Oakland players.
(If you caught the pre-edit version of my last post, my car repairs may be entirely covered by warranty. I won't believe it until I have my car keys in my hands and am driving off, but I will allow myself a little hope.)

Barry Zito has 15 losses, with...what, seven starts left? eight? Oh, Barry. I admit to being interested in seeing what the Giants do. If he loses two of his next four, is it phantom injury time?

Also! Timmy Lincecum. Ran the bases quite impressively on Tuesday, scoring a run (sliding into home no less), and then came out like 4 minutes later and struck out the side. And although he gave me a bit of a fright, the recent reports are that he is not a cripple. Despite Brad Ausmus' best efforts >:[

Huston pitched a scoreless ninth yesterday. In a losing effort. FOR SOME REASON, I felt bad when I saw him and Ziggy warming up side by side in the 8th, knowing Huston would only get the call if the A's didn't score. So yeah, I'm pretty much gonna have to root for Huston to get his job back when we see the A's in Oakland and Baltimore. Damn it.

Other Things I Feel Like Sharing:
-- Neal Cotts & Rich Harden were both with the Vancouver Canadians in 2001. Rich was 19 and Cotts was 21. Cotts was among the group that took Harden to dinner his first night in Chicago.
-- Rich Harden and Ted Lilly were both with the Oakland Athletics in 2003.
-- Mark DeRosa (Rangers) and Rich Harden (Athletics) played in the same division in 2005 and 2006.
-- Derrek Lee and Rich Harden...now breathe the same air every day.

If anyone wants to run with anything, please don't let me stop you ;)

"The way my shoulder has been, I don't really see it getting better. At best, it's going to be maintained. The rest of this year and the beginning of next year will tell the story for the rest of my career. ... Whether surgery happens or not is not my call, really," Chavez said. "I've yet to hear definitive answers from anybody that would let me sleep well at night." -- Chavez pessimistic about shoulder, season

(Clearly the truncated version of that headline. The long version must have read "...life, the universe, everything.")

What a tragic pair Mark and Chavvy make these days. And where's my Mulder/Chavvy icon when I need it?

Harden struck out 10 again (that's three straight games with double digit strikeouts) but won't get a decision...again. OH WELL. Seriously, James, it's fun to watch and all, but maybe you should work at putting balls into play instead of striking everyone out and then you could go deeper into games, man. Just an idea. (I can't take five inning starters seriously, sorry.)

7/14/08 - interview with Harden on wgnradio (right click, save as).

He reiterates his love for Batman, but whatever - still not buying it, James.

He also completely fails at answering a question about what it was like to live with Swish, Huston, and co. Take from that what you will.

(Also, some guy named Steve Rosenbloom thinks the Cubs need to call Billy up and get Street too. Snerk. Wouldn't that be HI-larious.)

That Sportscenter commercial with Steve Nash and Brendan Fraser is so stupid, and yet so funny. Like Daric Barton.

When do the A's play Texas again? I just noticed there's only a half game separating the A's from third place. So. Well done there. (Oh ho - Rangers @ A's next weekend; awesome.)

[Bad username or site: soupypictures / @ livejournal.com] & [Bad username or site: aurealis / @ livejournal.com]: You'll be glad to know the guys on Fox Sports Radio's Gametime were ragging on Buck pretty hard for mispronouncing "Duchscherer" during the ASG intros.

Street, Street, and more Street )

And randomly, Swish seems to be doing alright over in Chicago:

"I think this is the best thing that could have happened to me, coming over to this team and this atmosphere," Swisher said Friday. "I'm excited getting a chance to go down the playoff stretch." ... Swisher admitted the adjustment to a new team was "tough, different" but is glad to have battled through with the support of his teammates.

[Poll #955533]

Being a nosy ho, I'm rather curious about James Richard's apparent fondness for Mr. Komine. I mean, I doubt he bought puppies for all the rookies at camp. Of course, it's possible Rich ran over Shane's dog or something, and Bailey was given to him to make up for that, but I hope not. It seems Shane is of Japanese ancestry. And Rich does have that Japan fixation. Maybe the puppy is in exchange for following Shane around all spring commenting on what a beautiful day it is, and/or dragging him to every sushi place in Arizona.

What's the over/under, do you figure, on whether Rich stutters as much in Japanese as he does speaking English? ;)

I wish it were tomorrow.

Also, I wish I could sleep! I think I asked this before, but if anyone has recs for over the counter sleep aids, please share.

tracklisting )
If anyone would be up for making me a desktop, I'd very much appreciate it. I love my cookie!Zito wallpaper, but it's officially at the point in the year where it's only gonna make me sad. So, if you're inclined to, hook me up. 1280 x 800. I was trying to make a new one for myself, but I just...I'm in the mood for something completely unexpected. My only request is that it not be baseball-related. And if more than one of you wants to help me out, I'll blow the dust off my old wallpaper changer program ^_^ It doesn't necessarily have to be fandomy or anything. Surprise me? ^_^

Speaking of incarnations of Barry - Zito is keeping a blog for the playoffs. Which, you know, is even more reason for the A's not to go three and out please, kay? thanks. Created another no doubt quirky syndicated feed: [Bad username or site: zito_mlblog / @ livejournal.com]. Thanks to [Bad username or site: cookie2697 / @ livejournal.com] for the heads up.

Notice I didn't say anything about Huston blowing the save last game of the season. I am being SO GOOD.

[Bad username or site: owllover711 / @ livejournal.com] linked to this, which makes me all too happy to ignore Sunday's bombshell: San Francisco U.S. Attorney Kevin Ryan issued a statement Monday, saying: "In view of the recent news reports purporting to identify certain athletes whose names had been redacted from the government's search warrant filings in the Grimsley matter, and in the interests of justice, please be advised that these reports contain significant inaccuracies."

Sounds good to me.

[Bad username or site: oakchick75 / @ livejournal.com], she who is ever vigilant, found FSN Bay Area footage of the A's celebration from last Tuesday on Youtube:
Part I of III - stream // download.
Part II of III - stream // download.
Part III of III - stream // download.

zip of the MPGs // zip of the FLVs from YouTube. The FLVs have the best picture quality; the videos lose a little in the conversion to mpg.

...And I feel like that is a pretty jinxy thing to do, posting old celebration footage right before they play Game 1 of the postseason. I'ma go outside and turn around three times and the whole shebang.

But before I do! I couldn't resist - taking a page from [Bad username or site: rickenbacker / @ livejournal.com]'s book:

Dan hits his 27th homerun, with the remainder of the sixth inning because they show him in the dugout a bunch and everyone loves him - wmv, 22mbs
Dan gets a curtain call! - asf, 1mb
Rich (or is it Tommy? October and I still don't know) tells an adorable story about Dan's first games at Yankee stadium - wmv, 2mbs
The last half inning of the final Marlins game, with the walkoff and on field celebration - wmv, 39mbs. Lots of great moments at the end of this, of course. One of my favorites is the little moment between Scotty and Hanley. They embrace and then Scott holds Hanley an extra couple seconds and says something to him. They seem pretty close, which is something I never thought too much about, besides to occasionally awwww over [Bad username or site: lovingthecubs / @ livejournal.com]' old icon of Hanley comforting Scotty on the mound. I love my super huggy team.

(Have been up all night talking fic with [Bad username or site: offspeed / @ livejournal.com] - how 2005 of us ^_~ That'll learn me to drink a Vault at 11pm.)
I was talking to [Bad username or site: offspeed / @ livejournal.com] about writing, and writer's block...that is to say, she was telling me about her experience, and I was reminded of this terrific quote I read. I thought it nailed it perfectly, painted such a picture of what it's like to be stuck. Since I was typing it up for Alex anyway, I figured I would paste it here as well.

Joseph Conrad on the horror of writer's block )

I never said but I finished Children of Men fairly quickly. I can tell from the movie's trailer that many of the details of the book have been changed. I think that's smart - the book as written would make for a bit of a lame film. It looks like, with the exception of a few particulars, they've just taken their inspiration from the basic premise of the book and worked from there. As such, I'm glad I got to read the book and remain fairly unspoiled for the movie.

Other belated things: I was really, really happy 24 and The Office were recognized as best drama and best comedy! (At the Emmys. Weeks ago. Just go with it.) I was surprisingly miffed that Gregory Itzin did not win for his portrayal of President Logan. I didn't think I really cared, but I was disappointed when his name was not called. God, I hated that bastard. Well done, Greg.

I feel guilty. All this hullabaloo over Mulder's surgery and Liriano missing time reminds me that Marlins class clown Logan Kensing had Tommy John surgery on August 31 and I haven't said a word. Pyro's expected to miss much, if not all of the 2007 season, so I send positive thoughts for an untroubled recovery his way. Of course, I figure if he can survive setting his arm on fire and come back to pitch, TJ surgery won't keep him down.

Alex Rodriguez should send Carl Pavano a bottle of wine. Thanks for getting everyone off my ass, Ace.

No one in Florida knows who the Marlins are, lol. Not really a surprise, given that 6,000 people show up to a game on the regular. And they're right, most of them are not terribly memorable. There's something rather average joe about all of them, except for the fact that some of them are wicked tall. I imagine I would recognize half the roster in street clothes, but that might be wishful on my part.

Gateway says they "forgot" to do the hinge repair and I should send the old laptop back to them. Which I will, because I'm not using it now anyway. My dad knows a guy who might be able to fix the keyboard. And if it all works out, it would be good to have a back-up laptop around, just in cases. But knowing Gateway they're probably likely to take a hammer to the LCD display and send it back to me. I never learn.

One of two things needs to happen today - the Phillies need to LOSE or the Mets need to WIN. Because if neither of those things happens, the Mets keep their magic number at 1, and go home to play the Fish. I would prefer that the Fish in general, and Jake in particular, not have to watch the Mets celebrate. So. Someone get on that. And speaking of the series against the Mets, JJ's going to miss at least one start. I think I can effectively stop smoking the crack that had me hoping JJ was still in the running for the NL Cy. He's dropped from best ERA in the majors to fifth best, and now he's possibly done for the year. Oh, JJ. You're still the number one Mormon in my heart.

Harden's penciled in to start Thursday, which means Zito's last regular season home start will be Friday. (Which feels funny to say. I knew the end of the baseball season was near, but I didn't realize it was THAT near til I was looking at the schedule.) I was sad for Bri; so close, only to be thwarted in her effort to see Rich pitch. Condemned to live her life feeling like a shallow whore. ALAS. But I'm glad for the bump; a mid-day start with no television coverage hardly seemed an appropriate thanks for the memories should the A's collapse in spectacular fashion in the last week. (HEAVEN FORFEND. I'm just saying.) But I worry Z'll be all adrenaline, too pumped to perform well and end up getting rocked again, a la Opening Day. Ah well, hopefully it'll be a gem of a start, and if he doesn't pitch well, I'll cross my fingers for at least one home postseason start. [Bad username or site: rickenbacker / @ livejournal.com] will be there Friday; funny how things work out. I'm freaking jellus she'll get to do the ZI-TO! chant. I have a thing about chants.

Last night, I was awake for HOURS and there was no Baseball Tonight. In fact, I'm fairly sure I watched a college football wrap up show, followed by...another college football wrap up show. Wtff? Unacceptable. Also, I'm pretty sure there doesn't need to be college football on ESPN and ESPN 2 at the same time. 20 minutes of highlights, that's all I'm asking for. Christ on a riverboat. There needs to be a baseball network, like there's that NFL network, and the golf network. Let's go, People with Money to Burn.

"The weather today is an increasing trend towards denial."

The woman I live with mentioned that Red Buttons died, which led to me having one of those "I thought he was dead already?" moments. Since I thought he'd long since passed, I can't say it was especially sad news for me, but God rest his soul. It's funny, cause I've heard he's this iconic comedian, but I knew him best and loved him most for his role in Pete's Dragon, one of the greatest movies of ALL TIME. Yes. Red played Hoagy, in that movie. Remember, the Doc's stuttering sidekick? Btw, someone pointed out to me sometime ago that Jim Dale, who plays Doc Terminus in that movie, is the guy who does the Harry Potter audiobooks. So that's pretty cool. I love when my fandoms randomly crossover.

Astros @ the Fish yesterday and for the record, AUBREY HUFF SUCKS. **laughs** I disliked him immensely by the third inning, and he didn't endear himself to me any further in the 8th. I had the game figured for a 1-0, or 2-1 final, but the baby pitcher puncher saw to that. It was a really well-pitched mano-y-mano game from Willis and Oswalt for awhile. Neither factored into the decision, though. Of course. Also, I had no idea about Huff's father! (He was shot and killed breaking up a fight, when Huff was six.) How terrible.

Couple notes of interest on the A's: DJ has been sent down, which I know saddens [Bad username or site: cookie2697 / @ livejournal.com]. Oh the upswing, Swish will be playing first, and my tickets for next week are on the first baseside (where I rarely ever sit, so that's gonna be weird). So. Silver lining. Kinda. Yes. Also, Rich won't travel with the team to Baltimore, since he wanted to get a second opinion on his elbow before he started throwing again. Hope he hasn't had a **coughs** setback **coughs**. I thought it was interesting that he would have his agent tell the front office he didn't want to throw, as opposed to feeling comfortable enough with the training and pitching staff to say "I don't feel right doing this." Or whatever. Or maybe Urban just likes to stir shit up, and that's fairly par for the course. Chavvy is sitting out the Boston series which, quite frankly, scares the hell out of me.

Dribblers: The A's have eased up on their unpopular -- with players, anyway -- ban of beer in the clubhouse and on the team plane. Due to liability concerns, the home clubhouse in Oakland will remain dry because players typically drive to and from work, but visiting teams are welcome to provide their own adult beverages, and the A's are once again allowed to partake -- "within reason," a source said -- on the team plane and in the clubhouse while on the road.

Which is all fine and dandy til guys start getting ROWDY on the team charter. Just ask [Bad username or site: offspeed / @ livejournal.com] >.> InsideBayArea said the ban was only three weeks old - anyone know what prompted it? **pointedly looks in the general direction of a sophomore closer**

Hmm, three months ago today, a handful of us woke up and lost our collective shit for a few days over the thought that Beck had traversed beyond the veil, never to be seen or heard from again. Which begs the question - have you hugged your favorite fandom writers recently? ^_~ And are all the Beck secondary archives up to date? :P

eta: [Bad username or site: johnnybvo / @ livejournal.com], have you heard about Crank?
The Gmail ticker keeps informing me that Schmidt struck out 16 Marlins, like, OKAY, I KNOW, I WAS THERE. Well, not really, since I went to bed - I love the Fish and all but West Coast start times and me don't get on - the point is, I KNOW. And that was a whole game ago. Let's move on, Gmail ticker. Let's all move on. (Btw, for those keeping score, Fish are notlast! again ^_~)

Some stuff I've saved for myself in recent days, here if anyone else wants at. Mostly short clips, except the MLB Midday, which is the full show, because I'm too lazy to find and download a splicing program.

Joe Mauer talking about throwing out baserunners
Clip from Wordplay feat. Moose (when he says 'we' here, is he talking about a group of Yankees? Because I can't really picture them working on crossword puzzles together. It's...vaguely endearing. Which is...EW.)

And we wanted to know where Harden was living this year? )

It's a bit silly how happy this new understanding of things makes me.

Man alive, I need to get on the road, but I came across this a bit ago and never posted it, and then there was the story yesterday that reminded me, so here it is. Mostly for Leanne, I suppose, but:

Language of love: Reyes overcomes English barrier )

I had no real sense of how far along his english was; I'm so amused David feels free to tease him about it. See, David seems fun! Why can't he show some of that in his blog?

Alright, ballgame tonight, which means I need to have a productive morning/afternoon of learning how to be all ethical but first:

1.) the Marlins FINALLY held on to win a one-run game. Mikey J had 2 hits, re-cracked the Mendoza line, scored a run, and knocked in a run. But more importantly, THEY DID NOT BLOW IT IN THE NINTH. I'm so friggin' happy. My babies are all grown up. And savin' China. Uggla stole home, his first major league stolen base, which was fun at the time, but I'm already tired of hearing about it.

2.) Sal Fasano is with the Phillies now? And he is, seriously, rocking the most laughable facial hair I have seen on anyone, ever, in the history of modern baseball. It's some handlebar mustache thing? It's very special. He's got an entire fanclub (Fasano's Pizanos?) and they all wear fake mustaches, and apparently sometimes he has pizza sent up to them in the stands.

3.) That pic on the mlb homepage of Dave Roberts and Doug Mirabelli? I am in love with that pic.

4.) [Bad username or site: rickenbacker / @ livejournal.com] informs me that the hitherto unsubstantiated rumors about an engagement for Mulder were confirmed last night, by the Cardinals on air personalities. Discuss amongst yourselves, make a personal note of it, work it into whatever theory you have about the weird Zito-Mulder dynamic since the trade, mark it as Yet Another Thing You Didn't Want To Know...it's up to you.

[Bad username or site: rickenbacker / @ livejournal.com] has declared today will be a Beck-fest; I dunno if that's gonna make her feel better or worse about this whole engagement thing, but I have to go read about professional responsibility, so I think she's got the better end of this deal.

A's also won last night, which makes me happy, though I didn't stay up for the game. Strained right something or another for Bobby Crosby? Good Lord, people. There is injury-prone, and then there is injury-prone. Kielty was optioned back to Sacramento. I feel for him; he was SO happy to be back. And, check out the notes at the bottom of that article. Apparently, it's not just New York. Zito's gonna be driving me crazy with comments like that all year. Jeez. [Bad username or site: roxybritain / @ livejournal.com] says I should become a full-time A's fan, but she knows not what she speaks of. I would announce myself a full-fledged A's fan, and the next day, the A's charter would disappear off the radar somewhere over Montana, never to be seen or heard from again. Also, following a west coast team on east coast time? For the birds. But people should feel free to come sit with me on the back of the bandwagon. I get to let my feet hang over the back. Fun times.

Also, OMG, you guys Derek Bell! A crack fiend. Mulder committed to some woman, and Derek Bell a crack fiend. What the hell is the universe coming to. Also, can you not be doing crack IN YOUR CAR? Little thing called "the privacy of your own home," dude. All I remember about Bell, besides the kind of ugly way he rolled out of baseball, is he had a really easy smile, and it was one of my favorite smiles in the game. And he totally hung out with Garth that one spring Garth spent at ST with the Mets. Heh.
According to this, Danny Haren volunteered to become the second A's player rep. Does anyone know if Zito is still a rep as well?

Just, you know, wondering.

ETA: Awww. the BabyBraves are so fucking cute.

My swap for a bottle of Egg Nog fell through, as I am a klutz.

BUT: [Bad username or site: panicqueen / @ livejournal.com] posted more Brad/Munce.

AND: I handed in my citecheck and got to read [Bad username or site: candle_beck / @ livejournal.com]'s hooker AU, as well as yet another round of Ways In Which Eric Chavez Will Never Be Happy.

SO IN CONCLUSION: Win some, lose some.

Beck's hooker AU has left me all kinds of oddly tingly like I sorta want to cry but I'm not all the way there. Is there a word for that feeling? Maybe I just need to eat something. 24 over breakfast, the cure for what ails ya, I'm sure.

[Bad username or site: phantom_hpuff / @ livejournal.com] keeps talking to me about Chad Johnson and Carson Palmer, which is only slightly more tolerable than her talking to me about scary Swedish hockey players and whorish French Canadians, but really, I will be most happy when baseball starts back up and we don't have to talk about either of those because we will be way too busy talking about David Wright and Jose Reyes. T minus 15 days and counting for my clubs. How come none of my teams ever want to be the early birds? Oh, and speaking of birds -- [Bad username or site: rickenbacker / @ livejournal.com] I got the Cards schedule! Thanks so much ^_^ And that's officially the first and only card I have of Moose in pinstripes, so, um, thanks for that too. I guess :-P The older one I actually already have, so I can send it back your way next time I write you ^_~

My brother's 23rd birthday is now 13 days away. I have no earthly idea what to get him. Feel free to hook me up with suggestions. I was kinda thinking of a Fathead but I think that's probably outside my budget :-/ I guess probably something for his apartment? I remember him remarking that he felt it was too bare and he needed to "get stuff" for it.

ETA:

One more thing! /uncle

Hoodwinked! is really, really bad. Please believe me. You know how you go into a movie and you know it's gonna be bad, so you think you can handle it? YOU CANNOT HANDLE THE BADNESS OF HOODWINKED. unless you are really, really high. Don't say I didn't warn you.
+ I feel ghastly. Which is a step up from like death on a triscuit. My stomach's been all over the place since the chili I had for lunch earlier today. The place across the street from the office came recommended by the people I work with, but yeah, no thanks. I should have considered myself forewarned when I saw that there was corn in it. I hate when places don't expressly identify their chili as vegetarian chili on the signage. Because they throw all kinds of randomness in there when it's just supposed to be, you know, CHILI.

Anyway, to TMI you, I had a little involuntary purge action earlier, which was not fun for me, because I don't really like things triggering my gag reflex1. Needless to say, I didn't go home. Came back to my dorm and died a little death.

+ From the 'Other Reasons To Hate Richmond' Files: according to the Dunkin Donuts website, there isn't a single DD franchise in the metropolitan area of Richmond. Not. A. Single. One. Also, one of the state delegates apparently 'accidentally fired' a gun in his office while he was trying to unload it the other day. Yeeeeeeeeup. 'Accidentally fired' it right into a kevlar vest that was hanging in his office, or something. At least, that was the watercooler talk at work. Dumbass.

Good thing About Richmond: a nice woman did give me change for a dollar today when I couldn't get my bill to fit into the stupid honorbox payment slot in the parking lot. Yay for nice people with change.

+ MOVING ON. [Bad username or site: kmousie / @ livejournal.com]: [Bad username or site: starfishchick / @ livejournal.com] links to some stuff on Aaron's new show (here).

+ Happy belated, Lewis Carroll! )

Oh, and I suppose I'll consider Beck's hooker!AU something of a dark RHD tribute, since I haven't read it yet.

+ I may, may, have a swap in the works for a full bottle of Egg Nog. Which would be completely awesome, as Egg Nog is one of those rare bpals I still adore months and months and months later. The swap would be for one of my backup bottles of Dia De Los Muertos '04, which is fine by me ^_^ **knocks on wood**

+ Note to me: shows I need to catch up on. Including Smallville apparently, because WTF. )

+ I miss Prison Break :( Does anyone know if we've been given the date in March that it's supposed to return?

2. She'd gotten her wisdom teeth out a few days earlier and was on painkillers. And I still made her tell me a story ^_~
Did Phase two of the Great F-List Trim of 2006 this morning. I cut another 12 journals from my regular reading list, which means I've cut about 25 or so journals in the past two weeks. Some of those journals were Friends Only, and I know there are people who only like mutual friends on their filters, so there's your heads up. Also, I cut at least three journals that I had cut previously and then added back - sorry. I really do try not to be a jackass about this stuff.

Those of you who use filters on your posts, would you do me a favor and take me off any individual filters you might have for sports besides baseball? College sports, soccer, hockey, football, basketball, winter olympics, etc. If you do use such filters, I'd appreciate it. If you don't use filters, obviously it doesn't matter, I'll just continue to be wedded to my friend the scroll function.

So you know what's stupid? LJ added that see 'all user pics' thing to the user info, right? But that link only appears if there's a default user pic. If you go to the userinfo of someone who doesn't use a default, there's no link. What the hell sense does that make? If there's a default userpic, I don't need the link, I can click the default image. Checking out the userpics of someone who doesn't have a default still requires you to open a new page, copy and paste the the url for all_pics and insert the username. Lammmmmmmmmmme, Eljay. Way lame.
